As with all presents for children, he's probably been in the tank for a total of 5 mins,,, spending more time in some cardboard boxes that were in the garage.
Speaking as someone whos still on 28.8 due to location, this got my attention, just like satellite, wireless, etc. And just like them it appears to be out of reach, again.
from the article - "Because signals can only make it so far before breaking apart, special electronic devices on the line catch packets of data, then reamplify and repackage them before shooting them out again."
So, they need repeaters? Im sure they wont be in ANY hurry to put them in rural areas. Canada is supposed to have every resident able to recieve broadband soon. Wheres my broadband?
I've still got one running in my dads old win98 machine. He has no idea why its "different", he uses floppys all the time, while I use the 120meg disks to backup his work once and a while. It WAS slow for large files, Imation released a firmware fix for this, which was only available if you bought new 120 disks for it, never did get them myself. If only the drive was a little cheaper..... who knows.....
But why would it not support 3.X codec? Much of peoples "collections" would still be in that format. Looks like a good solution for those who don't want to put that evil mod chip in ther Xbox.
Last week I helped out at my uncles Bombardier dealership, all the new Ski Doos have a computer interface for diagnostic software and alot more. They even have a new digital key system on all the 2003 models....
Another broadband dream for rural users. I've been waiting for high speed for years, after many other ideas like this. Our area has got a wireless tower, yet it is very expensive and targeted at only businesses. I can drive for 10 minutes to town which has cable/dsl connections, yet the rest of us are dialup. My connection is actually 28.8 due to Bell's laziness and poor phone lines.
First of all, has anyone looked at a GD-ROM? Theres actual writing on the inner part of the cd...which was done to prevent piracy. So, anyone with a CDrom can foget about using the PCI card. As for DVD, im doubting it will work, but like mentioned piraters have found ways to do it. Is Sega going to take the risk of putting out modifications so we can read these drives? Even if its built into the program, theres still a risk.
Finally, with Dreamcasts being very cheap as it is, this PCI card will have to be even more cheap, or really whats the point?
Now if i can just find a way to inter-link them to SimFarm, I can just stay inside on my computer all day and read Slashdot posts!
And dinosaurs that work in rock quarries...
yabba dabba do!
Once the UN releases Punkbuster 3.6, this technology will be useless!
Oh well, youl just have to "settle" for the Dead or Alive beach volleyball girls i guess.
Little did I know, my farm has a large supply of not only bedding for cattle, BUT building material.....

Wow, they sound like "soup nazis".
Raging Cow? mmmmmm give me the crab juice instead.
As a note.... they never posted cdkeys/serials on the nfos, they didn't JUST remove them from their sites.
Real men watch Monster Garage.
"Go watch something like Grave of the Fireflies"
If you can stand it, that has got to be one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen.
Be prepared for it.

Wont it be great walking back to your car in the parking lot and finding lovely messages the local kids "wrote" on your hypercolor car!!

Water is bad, bla bla bla...
Yet, on most mother boards if your Fan stops running for even a short time, you had better plan on purchasing a new CPU..
The first step is admitting you have an addiction. Congradulations. I have included the rest of the steps here for you.
Open - My Computer
Choose - Add/Remove Programs
Uninstall - EverQuest
Optional - Make a list of people who's lives have been affected by your addiction, and apoligize to them.
