You got it right. It's all about appearances and judging people. You want to disfigure yourself then by all means, but don't sugarcoat the reason why you got it to begin with. You felt as if you wanted to belong or stand apart from others. Instead of trying to get people to know you, you got something that they would be able to see immediately and judge you immediately. So don't complain afterward that people treat you differently because you wanted them to. I mean most of the times the ones you see the most are on the face, and you didn't get them because they look good, because you aren't looking in the mirror all the time to see them yourself.

Now it's awakening and there are a lot of signs that this cycle will be quite different. Combine that with the earth's magnetic field that's overdue in reversing, if both happened at the same time there's a chance of widespread damage.

I don't see how "smart meters" which i assume relay use data through the internet to a server somewhere has anything to do with attacking and taking control over a utility.

And SSDs are NOT coming down in price so much over the next 5 years that they'll sell for pennies per gig like a dvd does, nor are they press-able (the ability to make mass quantities fast and distribute).

Considering music and movies only, it can be at your fingertips (on your computer/tv) immediately through the internet. That's why amazon's mp3s wins hands down over any music brick and mortar stores (if they still exist) plus the price is much better.

I sincerely doubt that the cost is proportional to the amount of silicon used. I'm sure the materials play a factor, but lets not kid ourselves here. And i'm also positive that retooling the fabs is a major cost that has to be recouped.
The average middle class person in Beijing is definitely more informed about a lot of things that your average American Fox viewer.
