    They both need to be brought up on negligent homicide, and endangerment of a minor charges.
    Then let a court of law decide what is the right punishment.

    I feel horribly for these people, and even more so for their daughter who is now dead.
    That being said.. how the hell do you forget about a semi-automatic pistol?

    I'm sorry that Drug policy is not sensible.
    When I was in school we had no such stupidity, and we could bring forks with our lunches.

    Zero Tolerance policies are stupid.
    Kids passing around inhalers? Really? Most kids know NOT to do that kind of stupidity if you raise them right.

    Cause having a bot walk you in and out of the stun field while you were at work. That's fun and interesting gaming.
    Any game where you gain skill by using, is going to suffer from the inbalance of "I use a bot to level up my magic skills" and "I actually play the freaking game"

    The big thing is.
    They don't look like real people.
    They are clearly a cartoon, and one that is not necessarily physiologically correct.

    It's not like he has rendered graphics of children that are hard to differentiate. Or very detailed drawings. It's the freaking Simpsons.

    Which from a Google standpoint makes perfect sense.
    An OS that is basically one giant web browser, why would you need a local account.

    I wouldn't run an Chromium machine, but I completely understand their design goals.

    I also think that Cloud Computing is the worse idea in the world, but I seem to be getting shot down by the Myth-Makers. We'll have to see how it goes.

    But, SAP runs on Oracle, Postgres, and Microsoft SQL Server

    It doesn't have it's own database engine.

    The US sold it's wold wide credibility and good will for no-bid contracts in Iraq.

    Actually that's not fair. A few politicians sold America's Good Will for 10 pieces of silver and huge profit margins for a few military contractors.

    The US got overwhelming debt and a loss in international standing out of it.

    That being said, "Pre-Traumatic Stress" is kinda weird. But then, human beings stress out about "what might happen" all the time. If part of what might happen is: "I'm going to die" certainly some folks would freak out. Afterall, most young men who draft dodged during Vietnam, did not do it because of any strong moral misgivings about the War in Vietnam, they did it because they did not want to die. So, I don't know. Pre-Traumatic Stress might be something realistic.

    Android has to work on multiple phones, with multiple interfaces. Not to mention, Android does not have a 40million strong customer base yet.

    Iphone's appstore sucked horribly too, at the beginning.

    Google needs to feed the AppStore and tend it like a gardener if they want the Android platform to succeed. As Apple and Microsoft have proven, apps sell a platform.

    Did you read the article?

    Toyota's marketing campaign was in POOR taste, although one wonders why she never reported it to the police.

    I think giving her 10 million seems high, but I think that a class action suit with everyone who got this incredibly lame marketing campaign isn't such a bad idea.

    Pretend stalking someone is a terrible idea.

    How about this:
    What if you kept getting phone calls.. that said:

    I'm coming for you.. in a mysterious raspy voice, at all times of the day.
    That would be a clear cut case of stalking and instilling fear.

    Farmer in the Sky
    Tunnel in the Sky
    Podkayne of Mars
    Waldo Inc (nto my favorite but good)

    Glory Road is decent.
    Farnham's Freehold is VERY interesting not sure it's good but it makes you think and Its an interesting view on Race relations and their consequences for the future.

    Job, Number of the Beast, I Will Fear No Evil are all Heinlein's the world would be a better place if everyone was polyamorous. Though I remember liking Job, and Friday.

    That being said, I think Heinlein had some good points in Friday about marriages being handled like legal contracts.
    Heinlein IS good, but I think he got a bit carried away with sex, drugs and rock'n'roll.

    They're talking about a HS class of unknown age.. but anywhere between 14 and 18.
    Think about your average PTA Parent.

    Do you want the class to succeed, or to get banned, and the teacher to get fired.

    Have you never read Starman Jones, Farmer in the Sky, Tunnel in the Sky, Puppet Masters
    The Lazarus Long stuff is out there.. it's true.

    But saying he only has 3 good books is seriously wrong

    You do realize that Starship Troopers was published in 1959. Before the Vietnam war, and it's a reflection of the 50's and the Korean war.

    Stranger in a Strange Land is not really appropriate reading in a school. Much as I love that book.

    Better Heinlein books would be:
    Farmer in the Sky.
    Podkayne of Mars
    Starman Jones
    Tunnel in the Sky

    For Seniors:
    Stranger in a Strange Land
    Job
    Puppet Masters
    Friday

    Early Heinlein
    Starship Troopers, Starman Jones, Podkyn of Mars. Avoid Stranger in a Strangeland, Friday, etc.

    Asimov
    I Robot, some of the other short stories. Only do the Foundation Trilogy in an Honors version.
    Tolkien - a no brainer really.
    Chronicles of Narnia - focus on how it compares to Tolkien, how the author's christianity molds the themes in the story.

    William H Gibson
    Neuromancer
    "Analog" Is a great periodical to get short stories from.

    Given time:
    Tad Williams

    Focusing on Women depictions in SciFi -
    Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time for a negative.
    Elizabeth Moon: Vatta Wars or Familias Series for a positive.

    Even though I really hate both of them::
    Anne McAffrey and the Dragon Riders of Pern series are classics.

    1984 and Farenheit 451 are already part of most regular english teachings.
