Since I am in the market for a new one...what do you think is the best value for a graphics card right now?
Disclaimer: I am cheap. I got my P3 550Mhz PC for next to nothing (ok, I got it for nothing). It has an SR9 8 MB AGP 2x card that fine for 2D but absymal for 3D gaming.
I can't see how many of you think nothing of paying $300+ for the latest and greatest video card, but apparently I'm in the minority (and cheap).
I'm not looking for a high end card like the GeForce4 Ti4600 since I rarely play games on my PC, but I'd like something that will make playing Quake II or an 2-3 yr old FPS fun to play once in awhile. TV-Out would be nice, but that's not a necessity.

Craig Pell (VGR), a fellow classic video game collector, wrote a DOS version of the 2600 Adventure game a while back called Indenture, which has over 200 rooms. Pretty good time waster!
In the not-to-distant future, megaplex movie theaters will go the way of drive-in theaters: extinction. This is just another example of how society is becoming more and more fragmented, with leisure-time activities becoming less and less "social".
Do you see kids playing a pick-up game of baseball anymore? Nope, all youth sports is all in controlled, adult-supervised, "closed" environments. Movie watching is no different...

How does he know that? I went to a KIA dealer yesterday and they told me the 2003 Spectra has a 1.8L 65,000 horsepower engine. I asked how is that possible? The dealer said that they took a test-drive in the payload section of the Space Shuttle and it was doing about 17,500 miles per hour in low-Earth orbit...

The solutions to overpopulation have been proposed in many ways:
Steve Martin - "The death penalty for parking violations." Logan's Run - Kill everyone by their 30th birthday. Charlton Heston - "Soylent Green is made of PEOPLE!" Armageddon - "Houston, you have a problem."
Great...all of the Anonymous Cowards support my opinion. Just great...
At least Kintanon has the guts to make a point and stand by it. I don't necessarily agree with him, but I respect his opinion.

P.S. This thread was once about a Disney movie, right? Also, once you change your.sig file, it changes it for ALL of your old messages.

I encourage other people to think about their life choices and make conscious decisions.
Agree.
I hate to see people ruin their lives by having kids at 16 or even 19 or 20. They don't realize that once you have a child you will spend most of the rest of your life caring for it.
Agree.
The odds of you performing any truly valuable service for humanity just dropped to near 0.
Disagree. The most valuable service you or I can do for humanity is to perpetuate the species with quality humans. The effect will be exponential over time.
If your parents or mine decided NOT to have children, then we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Having kids isn't for everyone. Some people can have kids and a career and do both well, most people can't. I just want people to think about it before they have children.
"Terminator 2"...how could I have forgotten THAT one?!?! Me bad.
I still say that "Empire Strikes Back" s***ed. I remember when that movie came out and it was generally viewed (unfairly) as a disappointment (Why? Because it wasn't STAR WARS!!!). Every Star Wars film that followed has been generally viewed (fairly) as a disappointment.

This reminds me of a Rodney Dangerfield/Roseanne wedding skit:
Priest: "Do you, Rodney, promise to take sh*t from this woman for the rest of your life as you both shall live?"
Rodney (smiling): "I do!"
Priest: "And do you..."
Roseanne: "Ah cut the crap...and he has to take sh*t from my mother as well..."
Mother (looks like CowboyNeal with makeup and a wig): "And he has to drive me bowling every Tuesday night...and he has to carry my balls...and..."
Ahhhhh....matrimony!

Anything under $100? $75? $50? $30? Less!?!
Thanks!

The MPAA and Linux...
Does this make Kaiser Soze the "Gimp"?
Chris
How are you really going to play Video Olympics, Breakout and Circus Atari with a joystick?
They need a 10 in 1 paddle controller version of this for these games that should also include Warlords and Demons to Diamonds, among others...
Chris
Yea! Who needs movie theatres and corporate CDs when you have broadband, KaZaA and Windows Media Player?!?!? :)
Chris
You can get v1.7 here.
