One thing to consider regarding the set top box, the instant play movie count is considerably less than the DVD based one.. thats the main thing holding me back from getting the box.

I think that the programmers of the website have full responsibility to properly protect against stuff like this, but, being a realist, I know there is going to be enough that dont, that I will be properly entertained as a result. :)

I remember an article while back where someone had cut/pasted some articles from one section of their site to another.. and as a result had edit and delete links in the live content instead of on their internal web interface.

And a search engine (I think it was google) crawled the site, hit the delete links and deleted all the pages of the site. At that time it was stated that any link that performs an action, such as delete, should be a post, via form so that search engines wouldnt do that very thing..

And now, they are gonna start submitting forms? the fallout is gonna be entertaining.

Same here... using a mouse gives me a lot of pain in my wrist.. luckily it takes a week or two to build up to where I notice it.. but the thumb-trackball (Trackman wheel is the one I am using) works great.. and I find I have better and more precise control over the cursor with the trackball than with the mouse.. especially since I dont have to lift and move the mouse...

If you are going to play FPS's or MMOs I dont recomend the battery ones, I tended to burn out the charge a lot faster than average due to the number of mouse clicks and moving I was doing..

no comment on efax... but... some companies (and the one I work for is one of them) trust the general customer service agent to charge your card but not to give money back.. because they dont want extra fraud going on by employees.. such as putting money back onto their own cards out of the company accounts...

Its a hassle because then the companies typically only have one or a small number of people authorized to put money back on to a card and thats part of what delays the refund.

WWIV code was "acquired" by the original programmer of telegard. Telegard was programed for a while then that person (I can't recall his name) ended up not being able to work on it.. I vaguely remember legal problems of some sort, but I may be wrong.

After that Eric Oman (I believe) took over, worked on it til the 2.5x era and then Martin Pollard got involved...

There was a falling out of sorts, Eric said to heck with it and publically told people they could work on the code and released one of the 2.5 versions to the public.

Martin Pollard continued programming and released a 2.7 version or two... and eventually it got passed on to someone else.

Renegade was conceived and worked on originally by Cott Lang, who took the code that Eric released and continued in his own direction. Eventually Cott decided to no longer work on it, and handed it off to Patrick Spence (Me) and I worked on it for a while with some assistance from Gary Hall.

After I got tired of not getting volunteers to actually do the work they volunteered to do, I said to heck with it and passed it off to Jeff Herrings.

Jeff gave up after a while (hard to work on RG when you don't have time free) and I took it back.

Eventually I gave it to Corey Snow to work on and he has started a "write from scratch" version that he has listed on SourceForge.

    Thats the 25 cent version.

Needless to say, I do not believe that Telegard or Renegade (not counting the new SourceForge project) come even close to qualifying for GPL status :)
