  11. The way you put it reminds me of one driving with one's wife in tow. The nag will keep you annoyed and alert right, and is a good thing to keep prodding you. Getting a gadget that alleviates your safety is ridiculous, and NHTSA is more interested in people's safety rather than your comfort when you drive. Its their job, whether they have driven a Tesla or not before banning anti-safety devices is their prerogative.

  12. Another /. marketing stunt on NYT: 'Firefox Is Back. It's Time to Give It a Try.' (nytimes.com) · · Score: 1

Seems like /. is being used for advertising more and more these days by these fan boy posts. Firefox is by far more evil than Chrome for shoving Pocket down our throats. I gave up on both Chrome and Firefox for being very evil and opinionistic and having removed keywords. Tried a variety of others before settling back with Vivaldi. Couldn't be happier, even with its lack of Sync for ages (though they have some dude with a blog who boasts about it) and some minor flaws, but to me is faster and much more usable than either.

Human referees might have been ok in the age of wooden rackets etc but I am all in favor of electronic referees now that games are played in high-speed. When will the stupid game auths and audiences realize this ? Humans are so unreliable when it comes to hi-speed decisions based on accuracy.

I was also mad about that - but consider that a majority of the population (like the ones who still adores FB) will love shit like this which they cannot afford or can't convince their mothers to buy. This is actually a great marketing gimmick; as annoying as those fucking email newsletter popups. As long as there are stupid people, stuff like this will be a hit.
