    Honestly, it sounds as if the whole article was written by a 14 year old Valve fanboy defending source against some evil company trying to take its rightfully deserved title for creating such things as "Counter Strike."

    I quote: "The Source Engine once again takes the title and rightfully so as the most popular FPS multiplayer game Counter Strike was developed by Valve."

    A little less bias would also do this article some good, not to mention fixing the authors grammatical mistakes. Does anyone else find reading "then" when it's used as "than" to be extremely vexing? Maybe not.

    Well, i can't assume a lot of things in this exercise. For instance momentum won't be conserved due by just these things to the openness system. And this was just one example, albiet a highly unlikely example of what could happen to a person.

    I kept the example simple to prove a simple point. Segway + Human collision = bad.

  16. Well consider the momentum aspects of this.... on Segway Banned In San Francisco · · Score: 5, Interesting

    Lets apply the conservation of momentum to a situation involving a man walking toward another man of same mass going 15 mph on a segway (for this we'll neglect friction).

    Vi1 = 2.235 m/s (5 mph)
    M1 = 77.27 Kg (150 lbs)
    Vi2 = 6.705 m/s (15 mph)
    M2 = 100 Kg (220 lbs)

    say at the end the segway with rider stops in its tracks and the man goes flying, and since the man is travelling toward the man we can say he's going -2.235 m/s.

    Pi = Pf
    M1(Vi1) + M2(Vi2) = M1(Vf1) + M2(Vf2)

    (77.27 Kg)(-2.235 m/s) + (100 Kg)(6.705 m/s) = (77.27 Kg)(Vf1) + 0

    Vf1 = 9.648 m/s or 21.583 mph.

    I will agree with you, they are not different. And the XP can run in SMP mode. However the newer versions of the XP have their L5 bridges laser cut. So you have to use some materials to unlock the SMP mode. This site used to have an article on unlocking the XP with cut bridges. basically it required filling the bridges with a non-conductive material, then spreading some sort of material over each to achieve the proper effect.

    This is not a very smart thing to do as its can make your system unstable. But it can be done.

    Carmack has embraced the platform-generic opengl, and even coded his engine to be compatible on every major os. I love you carmack, please have my love child.
