    Those days are gone. The people are completely stripped of power. We are all slaves, every last one of us. There is nothing the "powers that be" wouldn't do to maintain their power.     Look, we are reasonable people for the most part but when you mention spammers, all hell breaks loose. Why is that? Could it be that for over a decade these assholes have consistently buzzed about our collective heads like fruit flies. No matter what solutions we came up with they just countered it. They didn't care they were annoying us, they didn't care who they screwed over and they certainly didn't care what it cost anybody else. So if somebody wanted to bring great harm to such a person ...I wouldn't care.

    This is a clear case of punishment not fitting the crime. Spam is a pain in the ass and I would love to kick this guys ass but what damage has really been done to me? I just had to click delete a few thousand times (maybe more). Lock him up? Bah, that helps nobody. Strip him of every asset he has and toss his ass to who ever wants to prosecute him. A few years getting screwed over by the US "justice" system is all the punishment he deserves.

    Somebody mentioned DUI. Now there is a punishment not fitting the crime. You get punished for what COULD have happened. WTF is that? So if I shoot a pistol into the ground, I should be charged with attempted murder? Bullshit. If you're drunk and hit somebody, there are charges for that. Being drunk doesn't change anything.     Aren't people responsible for their own actions these days? Oh shit, I wet myself laughing so hard. "Responsible"? WTF does that even mean? The point isn't what the students have done, it's that the RIAA is ignoring legal procedure and rules of evidence to unfairly bully these people. It doesn't matter if they are guilty or not, they deserve a fair hearing. Not the perversion of justice that the RIAA dollars have wrought.

    You can't say the 99% of irc usage is illegal but you could say that 99% of internet assclowns use irc for their activities. Every zombie I have seen used irc to control it. I bailed on irc years ago. The constant splits and attacks made it useless.

    We've had several of our domains get used as spam from's. The only time I got a lead on who was doing it was a pr0n company in canada so our hands were tied. I did subscribe them to a bunch of newsletters and posted their email all over usenet. I was hoping for a lynching but thats the way it goes.

    We (the dev firm I work for) was approached to do spamming. I went apeshit and said I would quit and report it to the FCC but they were offering real money and my bosses were tempted. So I turned off the blacklists and let them swim in spam a few days till they came to their senses. When he had 100+ spams everyday, he saw the light.

    Well, if the news coverage of these murders was done right. I would think the morons wouldn't consider ordering anything out of fear.

    Maybe instead, we get an urban myth started that claims this and maybe get 1 in 5 morons to stop buying. They already have some reservations but the added "...horrible, blood curdling manner. On television." death thing could make a difference.

    I hear ya. I added a lot of spammer typos of my users to my aliases. I went from 2 a day to 50 a day just to report them and get them on the BL.

    It's like standing on the beach and cursing the tide but you have to keep fighting. Those bastards have to be stopped.
