    1 unplug your gateway device (dsl modem) and your router
    2 on a know clean system download and create a Windows Defender Offline flashkey/dvd (you will need either or both of the 32 and 64 bit versions)
    3 shut down ALL of your computers
    4 make and have %meal% (don't forget the dishes)
    5 run WDO on one computer (make sure it completes successfully)
    6 plug in your dsl modem and wait for the blinky lights to settle
    7 plugin your router and wait for its blinky lights to settle
    8 plugin the computer that was scanned (and only that one)
    9 see if the problem shows back up

    10A IF NO: then FOR EACH IN ListOfComputers do 5 ,8 and 9 with the next computer IF RemainingComputers = 0 then GOTO 11
    10B THEN dial tel:8002255324 and explain the situation
    11 Spend some of your Profit! on a better AV solution

    a few features that could be fun

    1 have a number of noncombatants that you get "points" for keeping alive

    2 lose "points" for excessive property damage

    3 have a meter with "good will" that can get you allies/help

    4 have your supply officer gripe about your ammo use (and or be happy about how much ammo you captured)

    Which is EXACTLY why Win8 should have had a "Classic Desktop" mode for those systems that are not touch based.

    Ford would not build a car with a JetFighter interface and stop selling "Classic Interface" cars just to be Modern (and serve the new JetFighter division).

    get a pair of smart phones (that have simple Root Support) setup his phone with a small contacts list and a way to dial FROM THE CONTACT LIST ONLY when locked. Install RA software on his phone and set the lock code.

    its either that or get him a Just Phone.

    In any case i would install tracking software on the phone and tell him it installed.

    This will come in handy when somebody asks "Its %time% do you know where your kid is??"

    what happened is that

    1 this college has a Free Speech Zone smaller than some large pizzas

    2 and it has to be reserved weeks in advance

    3 this is similar to the policies of several colleges (one of the fights that FIRE has)

    i would bet that there are several US colleges/universities that have policies just as loony

    1 inventor type that don't market anything (they invent and then sell to a Maker)

    2 Makers that have on staff inventor types (they make stuff "with our patented..."

    3 Leech types that just beg, borrow , steal and Buy patents (Holding Corps that only send bills around)

    Trolls are type 3 not type 1

    it makes no sense for the phones to be unlocked for moving to another carrier when the ROM on the phone is stuffed with Carrier Aps (and Carrier PARTNER aps).

    Slashdot Challenge can somebody tell me how to ROOT an HTC thunderbolt with the 1.08 hboot without doing a full reload and wipe (or how to backup the ap settings without root)?

    to expand on this we have

    Verizon: CDMA with LTE overlay a "sim" card is used for LTE Only. Carrier provided phones mostly do not have CDMA/GSM radios

    Sprint: CDMA with a slightly different LTE overlay i think you can pay an arm and a leg to get a CDMA/GSM/Iden phone (Iden is what Nextel used to use)

    ATT: GSM with LTE (i think) this is the current version of the Bell System (cellular)

    T-Mobile: GSM with LTE on different bands

    a legion of smaller local and or "prepay" carriers (some of whom may be linked to or run by the Big Four)

    in about 5 years when they swap off of CDMA we will not have most of this mess

    err you have missed an update since i did state that ABP works in Chrome and MSIE (and android) since google has no way of controlling the filter lists yes it does in fact block Google Ads.

    oh and since most folks will be using a browser from the Gecko/Chrome/IE families it does not matter that a bunch of browsers that may together be ?percent of the "market" are not supported (oh i forgot Opera is supported).

    its kind of hard to be mobile when you have to lug around another system to run your adblock filter

    How many of the worker still HAVE readable fingerprints??

    (oh btw gloves can/do fail and even if they don't just waving a broom around does nasty things to your fingertips)

    you do realize that ethylene glycol is the major (after water) component in Smoke/Fog Fluid right??
