    Well, actually it does. It means that just about every channel is going to cancel their programs to tell us time and time and time again, that "this dictator was a threat to world peace, and killed puppies for fun".

    For some things I like to use phrases.

    Like

    "This is my super duper extra hard to crack password with 164 characters and the word 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' in it, and noone will ever brute-force it!"

    Or something like

    "I'll never tell anyone what my password is, and you fuckheads can forget about me ever telling you!"

    That one is also kinda neat when the police/CIA/FBI/Gestapo/whatever tries to get your password. Well, until they torture you anyway.

    I saw this around 2 pm, and the warning was from 9 am. The day before ...

    Okay, so external drives aren't as cheap as internal drives, but they are a lot easier to cool (40 cm fan for instance), easier to swap if needs be, easier to expand the capacity (just plug in yet another drive into your FireWire-bus).

    Not sure how easy it is to raid those though ...

    You then say that [H]ard|OCP, Anandtech and Ace's Hardware are 100% better than Tom's Hardware. Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

    However - 100% of useless is still nothing, so what you're saying is, that [H]ard|OCP, Anandtech and Ace's Hardware are also useless. I don't think that's what you were going for ...

    And, truth be told, Easter celebrations in most Christian denominations usually have no resemblance to the Jewish feast of Passover.
    So what? It's actually based on the actual events of the crucifiction. Jesus was hanging on the cross and he called his diciples to him and said: "So guys, how are you going to celebrate this in the future." Peter, having sipped a bit to much to the blood of his lord the day before, said "Well, uhh, we could, uhh, you know ... paint some hardboild eggs."

    Starting at 0, we'd have 65,535 monitors, which is the maximum value rendered by 16 places in base 2.
    Okay, I could understand 'interesting' but 'insightfull'???

    Here's a nice calculation for you.

    What is 2 to the power of 16? 2^16. Try all kinds of calculators.
    How many times would you multiply 2 with itself to end up with an odd number (which 65,535 is)? It is fairly difficult to end up with an odd number when doing 2^y where y is an integer > 0.

    Now, 2^15 + 2^14 + 2^13 ... 2^0 would yield an odd number (because 2^0 is 1), and incidently it would give you 65,535.

    I'm guessing the guy who taught the parent poster to count actually knew what he was doing ...

    The only problem is that people are used to just switching off their machines, and don't shut down correctly.
    How about using APM and make the power button shut the system down properly? It can't be that hard to do, can it?
