The Xandros Desktop menu is steamlined with no redundant applications
Steamlined, huh? Wow ill bet thats a pretty clean desktop!!
Seriously though, I dont agree with the need for this distro (we have plenty that are nice and useable IMHO) but I would avidly defend anyone's right to make their own distro in their own vision. Yay Linux development!
In linux you can change it with ifconfig. I used to do this in order to fool my ISP into thinking my linux box is my windows box back when ATT used to require the service be tied to a specific MAC Address (I do not think they do this anymore) I didnt feel like taking the nic out of my linux box so I just changed the MAC to that of the windows one. I think it goes something like this
Wow, I agree with you so much it hurts. I almost always wait to go to the theatre and just buy a DVD instead. The Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back DVD has SO MUCH content on it that I have been watching it for days!! Whereas the movie theatre experience is everything you mentioned. The only movies I will go see are Matrix sequels, Harry Potter sequels, Star Wars (I just HAVE to even though they arent as good nowadays) and of course LOTR (December 18!!). And ill see them on opening night. Any other movie is worth waiting for. Just my opinion.
Well.....I allready dont buy music because it just costs too much. More importantly is #2 above because of the old adage of "if you can use it, it isnt secure"
One: I will not buy your "improved" format. You will not sneak this by my nose. You will probably on the other hand sneak this under the nose of everyone that does not read slashdot because I have found that everyone else is dumb.
Two: Someone will break your "copy protection" two weeks before you release it and this will not effect me any more than playing DVDs on my linux box does now.
hahahaah! you think that would work?? No nations...no government. What you are suggesting is really a step backward. Sorry, no more computers without your corporations and nations. No advancement in technology either. Its proven democracy allows for the level of consumarism needed to generate money and jobs which lead to advances in science and technology. If you want proof just look at any nation besides a democratic one. USSR? Dont think so. Dont count on China either, they havent been to the moon right (or a host of other things we've done) And what about leadership in your little communities. How would that work? Again, you just suggest an idealistic view without a real solution.
I guess that could have been a joke, but just in case it wasnt... I am kind of tired of people just getting on a box and shouting down our government and corporate evils and not offering up a fricking solution. If you have a better idea on how to run this country, please offer it up. If not, people will not be taking you seriously when you shout generalized, subjective opinions in ANY forum. (And then you get made fun of in every medium from "something awful" to Saturday Night Live.
its not B&E if you leave the keys on the front porch, right?? o.O of course, maybe it is.

ALWAYS run rm with alias rm -i, and then you can override if you are certain that you wont make a mistake (or are in a folder that doesnt matter like null)
Thats all MS needs is a really crappy running mate in any market to maintain their "we are not a monopoly" standing. And by crappy i do not mean in function but in delivery. With an exception of Mozilla I have never heard of an Open Source app gaining mainstram acceptance. So MS can say, hey look - its a competitor, we dont control the internet!! But in reality all merchants etc will use passport because that is what they know. And rightfully so - if you were an online merchant and wanted to fuse your business in with the single sign on, would you trust a group of loosely based hackers (FUD FUD FUD) or Microsoft, which has been supplying "quality and money saving" apps for the last 20 years? This isnt flamebait, just reality.
Well have you played Unreal Tournament 2003 yet? It has this really cool game called Bombing Run. Its like Death Match football, very cool. Penny Aracde did a little write up of it, and a comic. You can get the demo from fileplanet of course.
does it even matter WHAT they are called, cowards or otherwise? Call them gone, because thats what they are. What WE need to do is work with what we are given. Not waste time justifying the actions of these people, or standing up for them.
doesnt have to be your own ISPs DNS servers though right? I have been using earthlink's for about 3 years though have not been a customer of theirs...
Your first 10 million dollar idea is alawys the hardest.

You don't try and fight MPAA and Verizon; you get MPAA and Verizon to fight each other.''
That was a GREAT post. If I had points i'd mod you up. But you are already at 5...

In other news, 77% of all Americans think Europeans are wusses based on a poll just made up by me.
