Honestly, the people that complain loudly about new changes in FB [etc] are more than likely the people that spend too much time on the site - and are hence never going to leave.
For the casual user, the changes don't interrupt them seeing which friend is doing what.
All in all - nothing of value is lost by removing older features.
Hey! You're that guy I'm always 'lucky' enough to bump into at parties. I remember you saying you were part of some club, was it the TIA (Totally Irrelevant Anecdotes) or CBHFO (Can't be happy for others) ?
All valid points - but sometimes you'll be hired as a quick-fixer, too. My previous boss wanted everything done: now, now, now. I could oblige, but it always came with the disclaimer: working in this fashion WILL result in bugs. You'll have a result, but you'll have bugs. If you're in a fast-moving industry, sometimes it's better to have a result that bugs, than no result.
..as a 5+ year resident of paris, I recall seeing a Hummer twice - and it was the same one. Paris has never been a city of big cars, simply because you can't drive them - the streets are too narrow, parking becomes completely impossible, and they're generally not at all favoured as cars.
While it's true there's a creep of luxury 'smaller' 4WD (Porche Cayenne etc) - being new, they're generally more efficent than the 2-stroke mopeds buzzing around, for example.
Such a ban is as much to facilitate traffic flow than save the environment, I believe.
(And PS: there hasn't been an 'rush of electric car purchases' - smaller cars have always been popular.)
Actually, the area is already open to a plethora of tourists and buses. You pay your $50USD, and you get taken through the exclusion zone(s), stopping at the monuments, reactor, and Pripryat.
1. It's 'FreeWifi' - No spaces 2. Free doesn't really mean 'free' in french. That would be 'gratuit[e]' 3. Access to this network is actually free if you have any other Free subscriptions.
Slight food for thought: Most paper dictionaries have a digital equivalent these days (Collins, Roberts, etc) These dictionaries are better than their paper equivalents for a few reasons:
- No page flipping tedium to get to the correct word (an important factor)
- Because there are no space restrictions, definitions & examples etc are more detailed
- They have useful devices such as conjugators and conjugation lookup (meaning if the word was 'found', you'll arrive immediately at the verb 'to find')
- They have a tendancy to be a lot more up to date
Curious standpoint, totally valid, but I have a question: You obviously exhibit self control - what makes you think the instant you have one drink you'll not be able to stop until you've run someone over? The vast majority of society can drink sensibly, within moderation, and know when to stop.
I've asked myself this question multiple times as well. There are plenty of examples in real life where people are prepared to pay a premium for various reasons
If I decide I really, really want to see a concert, and am happy to offset the higher cost of a scalped ticket against the wait / whatever of pre-purchasing, that's my concern. It's my cash, and I can do what I want with it.
The counter-argument revolving around when scalpers purchase the majority of available tickets is however valid.
Or, more to the point, all of these sites were already using mp4/h264 as their format of choice, and for flash, using out of the box players (jw player / flow player) It comes down to increasing / maintaining hold on of their audience.
It has nothing to do with cost - especially for for YouPorn and the ilk. They run *nix based encoding systems built of ffmpeg / mplayer - did you really think they were sitting down cutting each clip in FinalCut?
The entire YP staff base is about 6 guys in total, with about 3 being active (ie, day to day) workers.
As a head's up - they're not influential, and they probably wrote their own Wikipedia entry. Digital Playground may be a large content producer, but it's for the DVD (read: offline) markets.
They don't have a single website that's even a blip upon the radar. Having invested their all in what is a rapidly dying industry (Porn DVDs) - I wouldn't take a thing this guy says with a grain of salt.
I know a few people who have received their first strikes. For what it's worth, they were using eMule to get themselves nabbed.
Nepal was ruined by the locals long before GPS.

Had the chance to trapse through Chenobly / Pripryat a few years back - thought some of you guys might appreciate seeing what's what there.

Ever tried driving a Hummer in Paris ?
You get nowhere fast, and if you arrive, you can't park. The city just isn't made for it.

You're right, your version is both succinct AND hilarious.
Actually, this would be it:

Soviet Warrior, loose translation is: that which was built by the people will be protected for the people. ..and yet..

The 1D is not full frame.
The 1Ds, however, is.
Micheal Smith as in brother M... Smith and sister M...... Smith?
Small internet if so.
Looks terrible on windows 7 64bit, in chrome, FF and opera here. :)
I'm not being a troll, I'm just telling you how it is

Incorrect. These sites LINKED to sites that had episodes / movies on them.
Just like google links to youtube that has full TV episodes split up on it.
