    That was tried in the California Supreme Court, not in any sort of Federal Court, so as much as they want, people outside of California dont have to listen to them.

    I have in fact perused the data, and while it is overwhelming, I can assure you that I have yet to run across a single one with a name on it. I would like to know, exactly how many names were released, and examples.

    When the report says "Learned from Asset SpecialCodename about SomeSpecialEvent" and that special event only had a few people who knew about it, it doesn't really take a genius to figure out who told 'the enemy.'

    So the fact that you couldn't find explicit names doesn't mean jack.

    Much less 'memcached' being at fault. They say it themselves:

    Memcached does not spend much, if any, effort in ensuring its defensibility from random internet connections. So you must not expose memcached directly to the internet, or otherwise any untrusted users.

    All this is is stupid admins doing stupid things story and those are dime a dozen.

    I am upset about this because Verizon should not have any way to get into my router and change the settings, especially because I own the router, not them!

    I'm upset they let people like you on the internet. Change your passwords from the default and use something secure. Instead of waiting for somebody to do something fun like log in remotely to your router using the default login and hosing your settings so your internet goes down.

    If the driver is not positively identified then it is only proof of the vehicle's role in the infraction;

    And the ticket goes to the registered owner. You're responsible for what is done with your vehicle.

    While we can get all indignant about how asinine this is and how the laws are stupid. What can we do if he does lose this case and goes to prison. What is our recourse? There isn't one. While I'd love to be able to look back and say this was some landmark case that caused some sort of sane reform, I just dont see that happening, and I just don't see Maryland replacing the politicians that are allowing this farce to continue.

    When is anyone anywhere going to learn about the Streissand Effect? This would only even be slightly more idiotic or ironic if in they video, they're pulling over Barbara Streissand herself. Now millions of people and probably CNN if it's a slow news day will pick up this story

    It's been a story ever since it happened back in June.

    I'll be sure to consider immediately discarding any statistics released by "Yankee Group" in the future, because they could have just "accidentally" forgot to mention some important detail. Ridiculous.

    It's not their fault CNN Money fails at reading comprehension and cannot gist data correctly.
