Systems, methods and data structures for encompassing scripts written in one or more scripting languages in a single file. The scripts of a computer system are organized into a single file using Extensible Language Markup (XML).
To me, yes I know I'm not a patent lawyer, basically makes it look like they're patenting the process of combining n scripts into a single XML file, whereupon each individual script can still be called/ran/whatever.
The FCC's talking about powerline broadband. Yeah, we're nowhere close to a commercial rollout yet, but at least the regulators are certifying that the plans won't cause massive harm to any other communications tech, so they're about to sign off on it.
Have we just completely forgotten the problem of BPL totally killing HAM radio?
Personally I dont see why 1million+1 people make torrents of the files, all you need is 1. The main problem with large releases like this is keep the tracker up under the strain.

I mean it has nearly 8000 different packages. Each one has to be rigously tested for stable, and is for all sakes and purposes nearly 100% bugfree. ALl relavent security fixes are backported to stable.
If you want something more current try 'testing'. Testing means that things should not break as bad as in unstable or experimental distributions, because packages are allowed to enter this distribution only after a certain period of time has passed, and when they don't have any release-critical bugs filed against them. You can track these here. (More info here).
Finally if you want even more up-to-date, try unstable. Most of the development work that is done in Debian, is uploaded to this distribution. This distribution will never get released; instead, packages from it will propagate into testing and then into a real release. "sid" (codename for unstable) is subject to massive changes and in-place library updates. This can result in a very "unstable" system which contains packages that cannot be installed due to missing libraries, dependencies that cannot be fulfilled etc. Use it at your own risk
Personally I've tried Morphix and I liked it very well. You can also install it to an Hard-Drive by double clicking an icon on the desktop if you dont want to boot from cd. It's based off of Debian GNU/Linux as well as Knoppix.
There's 4 Official 'Flavors' of Morphix including:
LiteGUI - a small, lightweight desktop, that provides things like a wordprocessor, spreadsheet, browser, email client, IM-software and media player (avi / mpeg).
Gnome - a desktop for people that want more than the basic tools. However, there is little you can't do with this cd image (full printing support, photo-camera tools, a few games and OpenOffice to work with Word-documents, for example)
KDE - a desktop that is between LightGUI and Gnome when it comes to the amount of tools pre-installed. Like Gnome, there is support for multiple users, but it doesn't contain OpenOffice, and hence doesn't deal with Word-documents as well.
Game - a small lightweight desktop with only a browser and a lot of Open Source games, and one or two Free commercial demo's/games.
In addition to those 4 Official 'Flavors' there's quite a few Derivitves including ones for HAM Radio users and a MAME system.

GCC != Gnu Compiler Collection
GCC == Gnu C Compiler.
So if you wanting the Gnu C++ Compiler, Yes you would have to install g++.
But I think the idea has been done already ;)

We're really screwed then.
