An entertainment company chasing away fan sites and therefore damaging their product in the eyes of their customers?
Didn't we already have this crap during the late 90's when they went after science fiction fan sites? I still remember Paramount happily shooting themself in the foot whenever they got the chance back then.
But don't forget to take a page out of the book of CPU manufacturers where a higher model number doesn't necessarily have to mean that it's better. Wouldn't want customers to make sense of what model they have to buy unless they've memorized the list of current versions and their background.
Using the software in any other way, such as for doing email, playing games, or editing a document is another use and is not covered by the MSDN Subscription license.
In other words: A subscriber is allowed to develop software on that install but he's supposed to use a different install to create/maintain the manual for that software???
DVL is mentioned quite regularly when the topic of securing Linux or webservers in general comes up or in topics discussing specialized distributions. IIRC he last Slashdot article where it was explicitly mentioned was less than 3 weeks ago.
And I develop web applications for a living. Certainly not a Linux security expert but one has to have at least some knowledge of the tools of one's trade.;)
Why waste your money on developing an add-on and hence an additional source of revenue when you can develop an out-of-control DRM system which adds problems for the paying customers and will be cracked within days???
Have to agree with the control issue. On the PC it can sometimes be tracked down to games being designed with consoles in mind. Recent victims of such crippling controls would be Prototype and Dead Space.
Actually, the first thing the summary reminded me of was Duke Nukem Forever. The company started development in the wake of great successes and the fans were really looking forward to the game. Nonetheless the studio managed to bet the farm on pipe dreams in their chase of the perfect game and successfully developed itself into oblivion.
Also, Saddam was involved in 9/11 and he behind a conspiracy with the easter bunny to hide the fact that we never really went to the moon since it really IS made of cheese!;)
Is anybody else having flashbacks to Apple trying to blame a hardware design error on people not holding the phone in a way officially sanctioned by His Holy Steveness?
They have a nicer letterhead?

How exactly does this study explain people who aren't assholes until they're halfway through puberty?
Completely normal. That's caused by the second X chromosome. Must be located right next to the "shopping gene". ;)
Is anybody else waiting for Engadget and the like to pick this up and report it as "Jailbreaking Jesusphone fixes antenna problem"?
"Streisand effect" in 3,2 ...
999 model numbers aren't a bad start.

The new Macs look interesting but apps like LightWave and Maya will probably have them for breakfast.
While they're at it why don't they buy SCO as well and end that crap too?
How will they decide the successor? A chair throwing contest???
I wouldn't exactly consider places like Akiba and Roppongi Hills representative for the whole country.
Don't bet on it. The judicial system and common sense aren't exactly best of friends.
Nope, you'll have to settle for a unicorn.
Sounds like this game is straight from an Onion article.

Chances are the user will even get Chinese lessons free of charge. ;)

Sounds like the article was written by Captain Obvious.
This distribution should be basic knowledge by now anyway.
You'll have to wait a few months and then buy the 4GS(hock) for that. ;)

... Iraq did have WMD!

It's always kinda funny to see how they've become what that classic TV spot wanted to rebel against.
And after years of using that Microsoft Borg logo we really need an Apple Borg logo as well.
