"but the use of and attention paid to the models at E3 is just downright disrespectful to everyone involved"
My god. What the hell is this guy talking about? There's always games on display. The booth babes are barely the "problem" as this guy sees it. The real problem are the horrible shows that the companies put on display that barely tie into the game. These shows deter from the games themselves and are there to make up for a lackluster title. This guy seems to make it out as if the women are seductress's that force feed you skin and games.
I'm not a fanboy whatsoever but the game was fun due to the following 2 reasons: 1) The guns and the balance that they bring to the game. The fact that you can have any combination of two weapons presents a constant need to balance which weapons you should use depending on the situation. 2) The artificial intelligence. Enemies would flank, go around, and waste you.
I read this article the other day and still wonder how it's possible to release this system without any flak from Nintendo. This is considered legal? It's being sold at gamestop and other big chains so it seems to be just fine. Doesn't Nintendo hold some IP that disallows the use of making an NES clone?
...He wouldn't mind picking up a little Portuguese. "Well, I'd like to teach him," she said Hell, I'd take the PS2 over learning a language too! Smart man. http://alfarrabio.um.geira.pt/spl/
and the 4th of July?. some of us americans are forced to celebrate our independence, I think that people in europe would have to get up in a really good mood to celebrate the 4th of july over there. "good morning bed. good morning sun. good morning toothbrush"
Support nintendo in the U.S. or Europe. Show nintendo that you want to actually buy games for your region..... plus it'll be $40 I also read somewhere in a drunken state that there would be extras in the U.S. version.
Another SP.. means it's time to backup everything "just in case". Stupid murphy's law. Why can't you be more like moores law? At least we get some benefit from you!
I can understand certain games like APB which was a really fun arcade game back in the day that could tag along with the GTA "rage" that's been going on for a while but I see 2 that shouldn't be tainted:
Ultima V? Don't mess with the classics. please. With a remake of this game, it would leave out what is missing with most games these days: imagination. 2D rpgs made me wonder how the lands really looked and made me think about the character personalities etc. (think about how Link from Zelda never speaks)
Out Of This World? Gamespot claims that it helped pioneer 3D but it in fact used 2D rotoscoped animation.. not true 3D. Speaking of which, a 3D remake would ruin the rugged look of the classic which can't be reproduced.
"GameBoy is for 10-year-olds. If you're 20 or 25 years old, it's probably not a good idea to draw a GameBoy out of your pocket on a Friday night in a public place."
I used to play with my gameboy a lot back in '89 and played it to death until I got my gameboy color. Back when I was young, it was fine for me to be playing it until it did indeed seem to be a bad idea to draw my gameboy out when I was in high school or with friends as it seemed like kiddie stuff. I fit the 20-25 age group but now it is cool again to play. People don't give a fuck. Many times they're more interested in what video game you're playing so they can check it out also. Video games have become so commonplace that seeing the new professional, shiny, and slick gbasp in silver makes me look godly. I would think that buying a $300 phone just to play some games seems like a bad idea imho. I could just imagine my friends say "WTF? you have a gameboy for portable games and its cheaper. You idiot.. you got fucking ripped off".
would be Initial D Special Stage It's real fun and addicting (and a quar^H^H^H^H dollar eater) in the arcade and hope it gets translated well to the ps2.
I highly suggest you have them tweak the code/settings of whatever you use. I learned game coding real easily and quickly by messing with the source code. eg: changing resolution, starting health, rate of fire, amount of enemies on screen, colors of the actual art files, CHANGING the art files.. etc etc etc
so before you teach them to code or use the program. MAKE ONE FIRST or take a completed game and then give it to them and say that they'll make something similar..have them mess with the settings . It's much easier to first tweak your game rather than start from scratch.
is how capcom has NO character development. you see in tekken how everyone ages, changes with time, and becomes a bit different. with capcom games, we have some characters (akuma) gaining gray hair.. wow..
nothing changes.
even simple things like how the original Law in tekken was replaced by another. I think some capcom character has to die a horrible death for me to respect the series more.
The Matrix was good. Sequel is then announced. Sequel is in theatres and people see it.
Hardly surprising it would rake in the dough given all the hype. The Matrix is simply a good movie [trilogy(?)]. Hard to say that about most of the filler that comes out.
I don't know what your gaming habits are but if you're looking for a nice way to relax: RPG's on the console. I'm currently playing Xenosaga. It has a story quite deep and has cutscenes that are quite long ranging from 5-15 minutes and move the game forward nicely. Although the fighting system is lacking in some respects, it's still decent implementation. btw if you don't mind graphics, try getting Xenogears for the psx. The story rivals any hollywood blockbuster or novel. btw these games are slightly anime-esque so if you're not into anime then it may turn you off.
Sounds a little pointless to me with the xbox's DVD9 9GB dvds. Something like this on the gamecube with its paltry 1.5GB sounds like a MUCH better idea.
most video on the gamecube is heavily compressed, almost as if you're watching a gif slideshow, if this came to the gamecube, there would probably be more fmv intensive games like final fantasy etc.

Don't take them away. Just Don't.

Tricky tricky wording with the headlines, making people assume that the system is what makes it illegal.
I find it odd that it has taken so long to get an NES clone into large retail chains, especially one that sells used games for said system.

Seriously. That was the best part of the game. I then shut it off after hearing it.

Anyone else remember Comix Zone?
not extraordinarily original imo

I'm still waiting for a full on CDI emulator so I can play Link: Faces of Evil..
