Isn't space for everybody? (isn't the earth for that matter). Doesnt the UN regard space as INTERNATIONAL space? So how come we have to wee wee our national flags over it? Mineing the resources for one countries gain. Hmmm.. narrow minded thinking? (guess no change there really)
Ill stick with my music on my hard drive (MiniDisk for when im on the move). I have everything available on my computer (TV, Radio, Movies, Games, Music, Phone and more). I use MiniDisk for mobility. Why would I want a format that restricts this capability I have today.
Well mine isnt sitting under my desk, its a full size tower, I also use it as a mouse pad (MS Intellipoint optical) and as part of my desk, so having something that is nice to look at is reasonable. Its not stuck in a server room, its not on a rack. Its part of my furniture. I have all my phone calls, tv, everything going trough it.
I took an old PC case I had and used some stone spray (with the rough stone particles in it) on it. It looked like granite afterwards, pretty cool. The case was heavy anyway, so it was quite fitting:D
It is open to many ways of interpreting this. MS's way, the lawyers way, the users way, the courts final say:) Dont licenses have to be CLEAR AND UNDERSTANDABLE? They obviously arnt meant for users to understand, lawyers only:D
We already have photo's, signatures etc on our licences, they change nearly every year. We use a european model licence (and passport) for every member state. Soon it will include (if not already) a chip on it. So what. It makes my live easier when travelling around europe having this single model. To get this kind of technology accepted, they are marketing it using the FAST TRACK approach. i.e., you get through checks faster at airports etc if you have this that or the other kind of ID.
Further to that, a product MUST last a REASONABLE amount of time - EVEN OUTSIDE ANY WARRANTIES. They could gurantee it for a year, but if its REASONABLE to for it to work for 5 years, it MUST - BY LAW. Consumers are protected very well in Europe.
In europe, the product must work as advertised AND any requirements specified during any agreement of the purchase (if the sales man says it does this, then it SHOULD, if I say i want it to do this and its ok'd, then it SHOULD - BY LAW).
Does these copy protect CDs specify on the package what hardware they play on or what hardware they DO NOT work on? Product description laws? What about fair use laws? Does these products infringe these laws? I dont know about laws in the US, but in Europe, WE HAVE GOOD LAWS for protecting consumers.
What if it doesn't reboot? :O
