Apache and Samba don't have GUI's on the Mac? Um, no?
Sure the GUIs they have a extremely simple but this isn't Linux you're talking about, its Mac. Its suppose to be simple. If you want to go into the conf files and tweak it, and live in the terminal window why pay extra for a mac anyway? Why not run Linux?
Mac simplifies things, but gives you the "option" to go into the terminal and screw things up.
To be fair, Pac Man for the Gamecube isn't anything like the original. It actually looks like a pretty good idea, although I wouldn't get it because I usually play single player games.
You forgot the VHS boxed THX re-release. My mom has the original, THX, and the Special Edition. She has the last two (first two?) movies too. She'll probably get the DVDs of the first trilogy when they come out. Maybe I will too, but there is no way I'm letting Episode I and II enter my house. III either.
The game runs like hell and half of the features don't even work. The gamepad support is "coming", the multiplayer crashes my machine and the game with all the details turned down at 640x480 resolution runs on my 933MHz iBook like I'd expect Half-Life 2 to run on a 286 with all the features turned on.
I've played better looking games on my iBook that ran a lot smoother. If the game started out on a Mac, why did macsoft have to port it anyway?
Educational discount baby! And I'm not even a student anymore!
I'd like to thank my college for forgetting to delete my school account. So far I have gotten $200 off of an iBook and $20 off of iLife. Now what else can I get before my school decides to do housekeeping?
to shut up all of the idiots that have never used iTunes.
Apparently you are one of the idiots. Anyone who has used iTunes knows that clicking on "Convert to MP3" while you have a protected AAC selected results only in an error message.
I got an MIS degree instead of a Computer Science degree. No idea why.
When I started my current job I was assigned to testing one of our apps. I was given 2 databases to log into and was told to "exhaustively test" the entire system (adding/deleting records.) So I started adding all sorts of odd stuff (I was going to delete them anyway.) Now I'm not dumb enough to name them dirty things (afterall this was my 2nd week) but I was still typing silly things.
Anyway about an hour into it I got an email that was addressed to the whole department that said
"To whomever is modifying the market database while I'm trying to demo it to one of our most important customers: not funny."
The name "MandrakeMove" implies that you can move it from computer to computer. While its possible you could carry around a hard drive everywhere you go, I guess they thought a USB drive would make more sense.

I have a bunch of pens here that act as I/O pens. $10 says mine are cheaper too. :P

Does that mean the Sims will come out of the computer and start going to people talking gibberish?
Right, but just because they can't spell doesn't mean thats the correct spelling. :)
Maybe pass it up to wait for a G5...
88 Ghz???
No wonder its 9 lbs!
Uh, no he's right. Its spelled with a g.
Really, what metric unit would a jigga be?
So to take myself down to the Anonymous Coward level:
Buy a dictionary, moron.
Well they DO have Dolby Pro-Logic II... thats not digital though.
Like my ears could tell a difference...

I thought Gamecube already had a component video cable. Sure, its sold seperately but its available.
Dude have you ever played Halo with all the visuals turned off? Think Quake I. The iBook should have NO problems with it.

12" Powerbook != 12" iBook
Although I haven't had a single problem with my 14" G4 iBook.
The company I work for is an affilate of the college I use to go to, so I'm still eligible for the discounts, its just easier to use my student login.
$29.99.

DVD Drive != DVD Burner
iDVD and Garageband are on DVDs
therefore
you need a DVD drive to install Garageband and iDVD.

Unless you want GarageBand, I don't see why this should be a problem.
;).
Just wait until Jan 16th, then go click on the little apple in the corner of your screen and click Update Software. Viola!
If you DID want GarageBand, then thats your fault for ordering something from Apple 2 days before a MacExpo
iPhoto, iTunes, and iMovie are all free if you have Panther.
Its GarageBand and iDVD that will cost you.
I completely agree, going after the flash market with a hard drive player would be dumb.
Thats why Apple is releasing the iPod Mini...... a solid state player.
You forgot Viewtiful Joe.
From what I understand, the retail version is the only version that SUPPORTS the USB key. It doesn't say anywhere that it comes with one.
