2. Borderline psychotics who dress up and believe they ARE their characters. Drink lots of beverages, usually alcoholic and sometimes add "chemical enhancement" to the mix. Abnormal lives exist outside the game (to them...is there outside?)
If you count the number of LINUX CDrom burning applications that are NOT frontend to command line tools then the only other comparison would be to IgD's Fireburner at www.fireburner.com
Yes...it's shareware. I've suggested that he should probably just release the LINUX version of Fireburner as freeware but I have yet to fully convince him.
Basically....fireburner is small, fast and does the job. Give it a try!
The people who I work for have two load balanced T3's and an OC3 to Internet 2 (90Mb/s + 150 Mb/s) for about 200 people. They don't mind as long as it's nothing illegal (plus I want to keep my job!)
I'm uploading at over 1MB/s and only getting 100K/s downstream. Acording to the stats there are NO seeds but lots of peers. Usually that means that the entire torrent is being held up because at least one complete copy has not been downloaded.
Once multiple seeds exist things will pick up consideribly.
60 min had an interview with George Lucas last weekend. Leslie Stahl asked him about critics and his response was to compare it to an analogy about painting houses. Paraphrased he basically said "Just because somebody else wants your house green when you paint it white does not mean you should paint it green. Now in fact..maybe it SHOULD be green. But Green is not what I wanted, I wanted white so I painted it white"
I also agree with the reporter who pointed out the fact that he financed all three films with his own money. His money = his film. He can do whatever he wants.

Does the military use OS X? It would seem to me that OS X would be a great alternative to Windows based systems since most of their software is custom anyhow.
BUT....people by consumer products not only because a particular product is good but because of "herd" mentality. "If my neighbors have one...I need one"
Usually this mentality does not happen to us nerds because we look at the software and the hardware and storage and compare and shop.

There have been other MP3/flash players that have better stats than the Ipod or the Ipod Flash. People buy these things cause it's "cool" to have an Ipod.
Well...some people are willing to pay up to 4 million to watch a season of Enterprise. It's hard to imagine that people would not want to pay a couple of bucks per episode.
Here is a thought....if the fans were able to get enough money for Paramount to do a 5th Season it might give them incentive to take some risks (since it's not their money)
It really makes me angry but it IS interesting! I've always HATED the dvorak keyboard. It seem obvious to me now WHY it's so stupid. Anybody as goofy as this guy has NO buisness trying to invent something everybody should use....:)
Although it's probably been said before, this is GREAT news.
One of the reasons windows is so dominant is due to rampant piracy. If MS is able to crack down on this we are probably going to see more people refuse to shell out $$$ for Windows.
Coral links only work if they are posted BEFORE the original site gets slashdotted. If the coral site can't connect to the origin web site then it does no good. Which is why it needs to be done before the story is posted.

Get half-inch particle board with evenly spaced holes that's used on workbenches for haning tools and such.
Spray it with flat black paint and use chalk. Works fine and much less toxic than marker
