However, if Sony doesn't have the infrastructure and procedures in place to protect children as they'd like and still offer the material, it's up to them to remove it.
You almost had it. Here:
However, if Sony doesn't have the infrastructure and procedures in place to protect children as they'd like and still offer the material, it's up to [[THE PARENTS]] to remove it [[from their children's reach]]
Men: "dang, geralt is ripped, i wish i looked like him. I'll do trial of the grasses (read as: hit the gym) and stop stuffing my fat fucking face") Women*: "that outfit is too skimpy, and it sets unrealistic standards for women's bodies. Hey, mcdonalds sounds good, i haven't ate in 2 hours"
*the type who bitch about video games and how women are depicted, while COMPLETELY missing that men are idealized in these games too. Oh, and somehow missing that they are god damn works of fiction. If you wanted to see average, chunky people just go outside and hang out at bus stops or the local K-mart.
Not that either approach is 'good' or anything less than sheer evil; but if a government is going to actively snoop on its citizens, is it better to do what the rooskies are doing, or what the NSA did (15 odd years ago I might add.)
I mean.. if it's radioactive enough to be dangerous, it could still be used for fuel. Go far enough down the line with reprocessing and that waste goes from having a half-life of 10,000 years down to about 100.
Hell, if the Islamic extremists don't completly trash the place and make all the women there wear a bee keeper's outfit in public at all times, we have a 51st star ready to put on our flag if we decide to take western Europe under our wing. Russia can have the eastern half.
Of course, they'll always get their way. They've mastered the art of bleating with hashtags; the corporate world is petrified of the bad press they can generate. What better way to affect social change, without any ideas of your own and; all from the comfort of your local Starbucks?
Besides, what good is a panel like this if you can't get it to rubberstamp whatever you tell them to? I bet you think arbitration clauses in contracts are designed to actually be fair to the consumer as well?:)
My thought would be that they know they've reached the nadir of public perception; and every time there's another scandal, there's a bit of shock, some whinging, but people continue using the platform.
The fact that bad press has rolled off of their backs ever since the Cambridge scandal has just emboldened them.
Definitely -- they need a weight verification tool for women as well. Maybe some combination of advanced image analysis utilizing gravitational lensing and/or bathroom scale selfies.
Calling out the double standard is hilarious as well. height? women can be picky/shitty about this one -- men can't do anything but chant "grow, grow, grow" and hope c'thulu hears their prayer weight? men asking women their weight is a bit taboo for some reason, despite it being 100% under their control.
Oh no no, freedom of speech, freedom of expression, libertarian ideals -- these are all naive concepts that you get over after you completely fuck things up, and need a convenient fig leaf to justify cleaning up the mess in which you basically are personally culpable for.
Don't worry Melvin, in about 15 years we'll no longer be allowed to drive our own cars -- with all the surveillance and tracking that comes with it.
Then again.. honestly, public transit has been shown to be far safer than personal vehicles; so really the best solution is to only allow government sanctioned buses on the roads, you know, to keep you and the children safe.
What if at some point in time, the powers that be deem 80 MPH as being too fast?
What if your insurance company gets wind of this, and offers a better rate if you opt in to some kind of governor? (and eventually makes it cost prohibitive to not opt in?)
Part of living in a free god damn society is having the freedom to do questionable, potentially stupid things. The individual learns from their mistakes, and is better for it. The problem with "but your rights end at wherever" argument is that it's an ever shifting, subjective line. And probably tends to get more and more narrow over time.
I'd rather live with some amount of risk than limiting everyone to the equivalent of safety scissors and butter knives.
the term 'super bowl' is apparently under copyright. So when Colbert was talking about a few years back, he referred to it as 'superb owl'
Still trying to understand why the superbowl (er superb owl) gets a pass on this.
Is it unheard of for women wanting to be what men want to look at? (not that they'd ever admit to it.)
i'd wager basketball shorts and a loose fitting T-shirt are JUST as comfortable as yoga pants and a halter top.
(inb4 weak ass incel comments.)

Well,
I mean.. if it's radioactive enough to be dangerous, it could still be used for fuel. Go far enough down the line with reprocessing and that waste goes from having a half-life of 10,000 years down to about 100.
Thank you Jimmy Carter.
Was going to post something to this effect; it's virtually meaningless green-standing.
Next up, Idaho commits to cutting potato imports to 0 by 2055. "This spuds for you!"

yes, but then they'd be our problem.
Sadly it's going to get harder and harder to avoid this kind of shit.
As long as corps view any bit of data they don't hoover up and sell as "Money left on the table" the encroachment will continue.
The big one will be cars. Dear god, help us.
Well, as Asians they're exempt from this kind of thing. It's only western white folk who need to worry about diversity, bias, blah blah.

So, why not go for broke now?

i hear this mentioned quite a bit, do you happen to have a citation/link for reference?
(to be clear, it sounds absolutely plausible, and I wouldn't doubt it for a second -- but still curious as to the specifics)
apparently one of the few groups of foreigners ever to do so.
the Romans were doing it over a thousand years ago.
jesus man, will you think of the children?
well to be fair; if the drought intensified; someone, somewhere would blame him.
no, you're thinking of global warming dude!
I wonder how much Trump's camp had to pay her to do something this stupid?
Pandering to the crazy fringe left will not win her an election.
well, if you're recharging it with gasoline; the future is now buddy boy!
