Really? I wasn't aware that IE7 was an auto update? I couldn't have figured it out by the 100 friggin posts above yours that mentioned the same thing... oh and IE does suck but I've heard it was an auto update? Do you have any info on that? or am I the first to post this breaking news?

But can you run Final Cut Pro on Windows? Valid point but thats like me saying, "Can a mac run ArcGIS, Autocad or Map3d?" And then someone else will reply "Well, can windows run program X?" Different platforms, different programs, different needs.

You sound like one of those people who only want to do the minimum amount of work for your money. Thats fine thats what unions are for as stated above. Sound like you hate working in general thats fine as well. I like my job, I enjoy what I do. I'm paid well, without unions and I prefer it that way. So you keep on living your life like everyone is out to get you, keep on "just getting enough done" and I'll live a life with a rewarding career I enjoy. Making enough money to do more than just get by in life. Hell, I'll probably get a rise next year for the work I do. NOT for how long I've been here. While you do as little as you can, waiting for that guaranteed raise you get at X amount of years. By then I'm sure I'll have gotten a few more raises or moved on to a better place making better money. Thanks for playing the game called life! You're "getting by" and thats whats important.

  23. Re:Are you sure it's the filesharing systems? on Can Newspapers Save Local Music? · · Score: 1

Well I can only guess I suppose but here's my take on it. With napster you could Chat with other users etc.... (maybe other file sharing programs, I'm not sure it's been a while lol) I'm assuming people who liked us from the areas we are known in chatted about us in the rooms etc... giving out the url and song names. Doing generic file searches might have helped too since some of our songs have long titles. The internet is really where we pic up alot of feedback, contacts and new "fans" (although I'm not sure using the word fan at our level is proper ;). We've got mailing lists, chat rooms and message boards (well the site is down untill the new cd is released). Also at shows we have a sign up paper at the merch booth so people can join our mailing / emailing lists. The internet has really helped us. As I'm sure it has many other bands.

  24. Mp3's work for indie bands on Can Newspapers Save Local Music? · · Score: 5, Interesting

Being in an indie band for the past 4 years (www.snoozerland.com) I can say that napster and other file sharing programs have helped our record sales alot. Not that we are selling millions of records but napster helped boost our sales outside Canada. (Actually untill napster we weren't selling any records outside Canada!). It also brings people into the clubs in the cities you've never been to before when you tour.
Thanks to file sharing we're hitting the states for the first time in September when our new cd is released and we also will have two songs on an upcomming movie sountrack.
What record companies have forgotten is that word of mouth is a very powerful thing
