    Please don't forget that we also allow the other country to have nuclear bombs as well, and that about 50% of our foreign aid go to help them. While 50% of our defense budget goes into bombing the other one.

    And where do you think this thing was made? America with it's big open roads? No. It was made in a country where there is not enough space for the cars today, so why not make a mini-van or something that saves on gas and space.

    I have been thinking about doing it and the main reason is why you mentioned, being able to see my wife in the morning, playing with the kids and swimming! I love to swim and scuba dive but it is such a pain in the ass when you have to wear glasses, and I refuse to wear contacts, well me eyes do.

    diligently searched for any possible slip in my story. As soon as they discovered that the mixture was not explosive, they made no attempt whatever to explain how the bombardier beetle could have evolved, but trumpeted loudly, everywhere, this minor slip in the story.

    Sounds like a few people here on /. Write one mistake and they'll gut you, well unless you're Commander Burrito or something, then its common place.

    why aren't people still not smarting up? Why do they keep buying a completely new PC every 2 years while they don't need it to write their word-document?

    Because computer buying has become a fashion. Just look at all the moders, and over clockers. It's a flaunting of money and status.

    That is what everyone is basically saying. Keep the users dumb, just let them point and click, and soon you will have a whole lot of ignorant and fearful users bowing to your command. All we have to do is try to wean these folks off. But that my friends will be a tough tasks since it is not in our nature to accept change so easily, specially when you have to think as well!

    Just look at the rate technology is running. When most upgrade junkies do their business, they get a bigger/better/faster hard drive.


    Any how think of the manufacturing process in relation with the speed technology progresses. They pump these hard drives out faster than Saddam Hussein can change his mind, so they already have a mucho load of these things sitting around. So they do some data mining on the info the got from the customers calling and complaining about their broken hard drives. It probably polled out to like %75 of all warranty work is done within the drives first birthday. So they drop the warranty to one year, make you pay for an optional three years. They have a butt load of spare drive and maybe parts, so when you actually do call in they can give you a new one right away.

    Bitch all you want about CD piracy, I want the "artists" to actually have a CD full of good songs. Most CD's only have two or three good songs on them and the rest is o.k. at best. I feel like we get ripped off because we pay $12-$18 for a few good songs. So maybe a good model would be to produce some quality material first.

    As the article also states that this has been going on for a long time. Of course it's in the Presidents best intrest to help thos who have helped him! It's politicaly correct. Just imagine the money spent on making these changes, no think about two years from now when we have elections again. So what good use is all this money doing-beside filling someone elses pockets?

    Most of the M$ advocates will try to point this out as a "big" problem with open source. That since anyone can get the source; it's easier to write a virus or what ever. No matter what OS you have there will always be some jerk that will write a virus, so it's obvious you should install the patch when it comes out!
    What they should do every time these yahoo's announce a virus has been released they should also release how long the patch has been out to protect against it!

    Sorry you took it that way, I was figuring that most intelligent people would understand that I was talking about the winter season. I know the Scandinavian countries have warm weather too, hell if Canada can get to 35 deg F. So I guess that blows your assumption of my reasoning.

    P.s. I'm glad you have to result into insulting Americans because of what I said. Just proves ignorance is equally dished out among the world.

    1. Italy is not so much of a player in Europe because they are still trying to recover from having one telephone company. Two Italian companies are not as "customer friendly" as they are in America. I was told 1.5 years ago that my area would have ADSL in three weeks...the reason for the delay? No clue, they don't even have one.
    2. Think about the countries in norther Europe too! Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, and Finland they have some of the higher usage rates. Could be for the fact that there's not so much to do when it's so cold, snowy, and dark. Could also stem from the fact that European web users are using the web in different ways that we Americans use it.

    The above article makes some good sense. After the R&D that customer did for Win95 helped MS to build Win98. They learned early off that customer are the best R&D and bug testers out there. Do you realize that the number of service packs have been lessening over each version?

    Personally I played D&D and AD&D for a couple of years but didn't like it. So I moved to Role Master from Iron Crown. And fell in love with it so much I'd never go back to AD&D, specially since WotC owns it. Any how RM might be a bit more complicated, or have a high learning curve but it is worth it.

    O.k. before you go off, think about this.

    In any government job relating to the military/FBI/ or CIA one must first learn how to do the basics of the job. In the Marines no matter what job you do you're an infantry man first. In the Air Force is the same even though you are a network admin and sit on your but trying to figure out why something is broke-your still an airman you need to know how to shoot a gun don you gear...you never know what will happen in this world. And since the FBI is also limited to the amount of money they have they can't just hire some computer geeks to sit on their butts all day in front of the computer. Granted the higher ups can make some bad choices but don't blame the FBI as a whole. That's like condemning all the employees at Enron for what a few idiots did.

    O.k. here it is:
    As some people mentioned "Where can I charge up?"
    Well in_some_cities they have a few charge up places like Mesa Arizona. But not enough.
    And yet people argue that we will never run out of oil. And they are right we might not in out life time, but we might run out of good clean air and water.
    So you want to but electric chargers all over the country? Great but where do they get their power from? That's right BIG OIL and COAL companies. So either way if we go to electrics cars, we'll just pay more electricity and heating, but hey at least we are saving the environment while filling the same pockets with more money.

    Well the government wants common people to believe this. Not only because they are the majority of the voters but also ignorant. Just think about it. Everyone on here is at least a semi-intelligent being that can get his/her own computer working and on the net. With that being said, do you think an average car mechanic cares if a new Kernel comes out? Or does the postman/woman really care if IIS just sprung a leak? No, and do you think they read into what the government is doing? Hell most T.V. soaked people think the West Wing is a true representation of the White house! And yes you will all ways have people who would rather lose some freedoms in order to feel safe. Kinda like and adult wanting to be a teenager again so they don't have all the responsibility.

    O.k. we all know the numbers game they play with the CPU's. The numbers don't matter as much as the architecture does.

    And for the second review that says "Apple-like marketing" Apple's use a totally different CPU Architecture. It's like trying to compare a 500HP car with a 500HP boat. It all depends on what you use it for.

    That's right these low life businesses that wont to make sure you see EVERY BIT of their add are just moving to different avenues. Like in Germany and other European countries you get Spam SMS! So as personal communication devices get more popular the tricks of spamming and annoying advertisement will get more personally invading.
