I don't know what the hell these people are talking about, but I bought this album the day it came out and immediately ripped it with Musicmatch onto my Nomad Zen as a 320kbs MP3...
Hmm.. I get 3MB down from SBC DSL (Which is MUCH BETTER than Cox cable in my area) for $40 a month. I guess I just figured that it was like that everywhere.
CWshredder does tend to work REALLY well on that hard to get adware/malware. It's like I was complaining to a co-worker the other day, I don't feel like a Network Tech as much as a bloody computer janitor now.
They've killed the best channel on TV. I certainly won't do business with them now because of this. Any geek worth his salt that happens to have comcast cable needs to call TODAY and cancel their service (BTW: I have Voom now, and it's worth switching to if you have an HDTV).
While I hate to see Leo no longer hosting TSS, so long as Patrick Norton is still there we're ok. I think he's one of the only true geeks on TV right now. Rock on Patrick.
I just switched to Voom over the weekend and have to say they have a HELL of a deal going on. $10 a month for an HD reciever and $40 for programming including 20+ HD channels. I did this after Dish tried to fvck me over on the 811 deal they had going on for a while.
I find it amusing as hell that this was modded as a troll. I have a PS2, and a GC, along with my X-Box so I'm no fanboy. Only on slashdot would a post be modded as a troll for complaining about a game being developed for an obsolete system just because the next best thing is made by Microsoft.
there are a ton of PSX's out there too but I don't see developers making games exclusive for it anymore. Don't get me wrong, I have a PS2 and it had some great games in it's time, but it's time is just about up.
Why on earth are they developing this for an aging platform?! The PS2 doesn't even support 1080i (which I was hoping they'd support in the next one. Boo Rockstar Games, BOOOOOOOOOO!!!
For the love of God people, I'm as much of a privacy advocate as the next man, but MAYBE it's time to take the tinfoil hat off. Why on earth would you care if Budweiser knows when and where bottle #564,356 is sold? It just sounds like good business to me. Besides, it's not like they're doing it for real beer like Guinness or anything.:-)
This was already posted on AWOT (best internet news source in teh world) four days ago. That being said, am I the only one that thinks that this sounds like a good way to make money (just providing the ATM service of course, not the criminal part)?
Secrecy has it's place. I in no way have any "authoritarian tendencies", but there are places in the government that require a degree of secrecy to maintain national security.
It's obvious that the author of this paper should not have been hired by the NSA, since he feels perfectly ok about doing a write up on the hiring practices of one of the world's leading intel agencies. He obviously considers National Security to be a game, and of no real importance. It's nice to see that the NSA can still weed out the assholes and morons like this guy.
I'm no fan of Real Networks, but it should be fun to watch them go up againt Steve Jobs' Evil Empire.

Most realistic driving physics I've found thus far in a driving game (and I'm a car geek).
Also, don't be one of those god awful parents that doesn't teach their kid to drive stick.
Sounds like snake oil to me...
Nope, you are wrong sir. Pat Norton is the geek god, not Leo.

Between this and them firing all of TechTV's staff, I see NO REASON why any geek worth his salt should use ANY SERVICE offered by this company.

Because Firefly is a great series.

I bought the set when it came out and I LOVE it. It's really worth the money IMHO. I can't wait for the movie to be released....

Loose lips....
This is also seen in Novell's "Secure Sign-on".
How would this have effected things on our little sphere of dirt if it had been directed towards us?
WTF is "hotting up"?
I had always assumed that Guinness was pretty high in carbs. Nice to know...
