that virii may well end up in the dictionary, not as a true latin word, but as a modern slang term or 'latinism' simply because its use seems to persist so much. Virii may become a word in the moredn living english language even if it was never one in the latin tongue.
Much of this depends on the initial design of the fab I would think. Also large corporations quite often have a throw away and start fresh because it is cheaper mentality , not because it actually is but because of things like tax loopholes and depreciation. Also factor in that as the jumps between process sizes are becoming more frequent companies are looking more forward and designing fabs with these transitions in mind.
It is expected that amds new fab in dresden will work with 300mm wafers on 65nm and later 45nm processes. Dont you think they would just keep building more fabs instead of upgrading them if it was cheaper to do so?
Of course there are other factors, like tax breaks and government funding and loan guarantees which make building a new fab either good or bad in a given place or time.
Also often times it seems fabs that are less then cutting edge are revamped and used to prodece less cutting edge products or used for third party stuff that doesn't need to be at the current state of the art.
From all I have read the new AMD fab, like most any other will start out at a given process size, likely 90nm in this case, but will be ramped down so to speak. Do you really think they are buying near a billion dollars worth of equipment that isn't in any way upgradeable? Do you think Intel builds entirely new fabs for each new process and just takes the wrecking ball to the old ones?
Also given that intel still isn't shipping any quantity or anything at 90nm I take the 65nm claims with a grain* of salt.
I'm sure a song that has had all sorts of MTV play is just going to make peoples heads explode in disgust. Next time you want to piss people off download some of The Mentors or Kill Allen Wrench. Those two never fail to offend people on one or more levels.
Thats a nasty thing to say

unlike the other x86 knockoff manufacturers they have actually attempted something somewhat new and different in their designs. They may not have met with a roaring success marketwise but they certainly did try to attack things from a different angle. The point of the article seems to be comparing the somewhat different aproaches the various cpu makers took in their designs, not how many millions of chips they have sold or billions of dollars they have in the bank.
I pay 65 USD for 384/128 with a fixed ip. There are certainly cheaper plans, but not with a fixed ip. Also 384 is my cap because the 50 year old phone lines wont support anything higher, and they (SBC) are not willing to lift a finger to improve line conditions. Cable wasn't available in my area until a few months ago, and even now if you want a fixed ip address they want several hundred a month for it.
an interesting point, though the coaster remark made it sounds like it was annoyance at wasted cds. How bad is broadband pricing in Austrailia exactly?
if you are burning prerelease software why not use CDRW media. I mean CDR media is dirt cheap anyway, but if you are so concerned about wasting them just use CDRW.
If you are stupid enough to use code with a license you are not willing to adhere to you deserve to lose your precious 'ip'. Period.
The only people adversely affected by the GPL are greedy fucktards who want the advantages of open source (free code mostly from their pov), but do not want to contribute back to the community that initially created that code. Nobody has to my knowledge ever been forced to download GPL code and integrate it into their product, there is nothing viral about the GPL. IT would I think be better said to be somewhat like a drug, you take the first hit thinking 'hey it's free' but later realize that there is a price after all. Too fucking bad, nobody forced you to take the first hit.
If I was ripping a live album and this bothered me that much I would just rip the entire thing into a single mp3 or vorbis file instead of breaking it up. Of course then skipping to a particular track becomes a pita.
I have an LG-110 (V-111) phone that is about 3 years old. Works great and has been through a fair amount of hell. With the high cap battery I get an obscene amount of talk time as well. Of courseI cant play video games on it or other crap, but it is a very well built phone. I hate these new tiny ass flip phones with internal batteries. Not being able to use a high cap battery (pregnant looking ones) sucks and most new phones have the internal kind it seems. It's almost impossible to get a decent basic reliable phone any more that just works well as a phone and not a borked wanna be pda.
I am quite aware of the content of the article. I am also aware that at this point only clients using the older and less secure protocol have been blocked. I and many other people that use current and up to date, non Microsoft clients are still using msn chat services with no problem. Yes Microsoft in previous statements announced that they intended to somehow license access to their network for third party clients, but at this point that has not been implemented. Non Microsoft clients have not as the author seem to be trying to indicate been locked out. Given all of this I stand by my assertion that the great wave of whining posts here qualifies as a knee jerk reaction.

They should take it up with the surviving former slave masters.

*the process size of said grain may vary
might as well put the vids in RealVideo format.

now I'm not gonna share my kool-aid with you!
love that. Imaging having the ability to filter all mail from non us sources. Doesn't china have something like this?
I'm sure if we do it for the children though, that'll make it ok. Or maybe as a way to 'Fight Terrorism'.

I think we have that cluster, and it is called slashdot!
Looks to me like he was asking for a token sum that if paid he could claim was a precedent for the legitimacy of his ownership over the asteroid.
Well being as the itunes installer is only about 19 megs or so I'd bet you could fit it in there.
Of course using it is another thing, but you can carry it.
As bad as the prequels have been I can't imagine anything more stupid than the matrix movies.
Matrix fanatics are right up there on the list with anime freaks on the 'hopelessly homo scale'

then Diebold would be suing for slander or libel, not copyright violation.

obviously never had the pleasure of working a hekp desk job. Ownership of a computer has nothing to do with intelligence or common sense.
Tom Lehrer isn't it?

I have to wonder how well paper would hold up in those conditions.
