    The Linux version will be available as a downloadable addon to the windows CD. As such your Linux vote will get lost in the Windows numbers. PLEASE either do one of the following: Send in your registration card with the Linux box ticked, or buy from Tux Games [tuxgames.com] who will be reporting back each and every sale we get as a Linux sale.


    We get the copy of the game that works with Win32 and OSX as well when we purchase through TuxGames, right?

    It seems like more and more people are latching on to the source-based OS these days. It appears to have become the Slackware of the new millennium. That is to say, the Real Men use source-based distros, and anyone who uses a binary distro is a stupid uneducated newbie sod who couldn't figure out how to pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel.


    The current generation of source based distros has far better package management than RPM based (and dare I say it? .deb based) distros

    compile times longer? sure. thats the best point against em. the good news is that (Source Mage Linux at least) when you compile, a binary package is created and zipped, so that if you like, you can compile your system, then burn it to a disk and use it on a similar system... or use your system as a repository for other systems to install from

    the wait is sure as hell worth it though. X, KDE3, Mozilla, Konq all fly on my system...

    Anyway, get a Dreamcast. They're cheap and you can run Linux on them!

    Yeah, except that you can't get them new any more (by all means, let me know if I'm wrong - but just me. We don't want a repeat of last week when somebody bought all 304 copies of crazy taxi 2 off kbtoys.com to ebay them later).

    And buyer beware: a small percentage of Dreamcasts cannot run Linux or any CD-R software for that matter. Check the compatability list.


    Actually, according to that article you just linked, they all work!

    Darwin may be (mostly) open, but the rest of OSX isn't...

    Geek Factor?

    Bored with money to spare?

    Personally, I might install linux on it..... but it would be a dual-boot... I wouldn't ditch OSX without really good reason
