Interesting. What purpose would this serve? or is it just for fun? I suppose if one had a nice video card in a server or CLI only machine maybe.... Not a flame/troll... I'm actually curious.
Spider-man vs. John Madden Wolverine vs. Tiger Woods Captain America vs. that guy in Medal of Honor Jean Grey vs. James Bond Iceman vs. (insert SSX character) The Hulk vs. car from Need for Speed any other suggestions?
Additionally, you could take the information and collect it for presentation to your superiors suggesting that your organization is in dire need of some anti-virus education because clearly they are posing a threat to the operations of your company.
If your superiors objected to the test in the first place, compare it to a fire drill.
I think you're making an optimistic assumption that his superiors weren't among the 80%
Not all Americans are the same. Some of us don't eat cheeseburgers, or watch football (that's !soccer to you non-americans), or drive gas guzzling SUV's.
And how exactly is China or India less ethno-centric?
I couldn't agree more about the usefulness of IPv6, but calling an entire country ignorant is neither here nor there.
We shouldn't rejoice in their rejoicing? You're right, its a shameful thing that a cruel dictator has now been captured. Stop letting your political party dictate your every thought. Can't you let yourself be glad for one moment that a man responsible for the lives of millions of innocents has been captured?
when this is displayed in IE, and you hover the mouse over the link, it will display "www.sco.com" in the in the status bar, but when you click it, it will take you to "www.fsf.org". I'll leave it to the reader to replace the latter link with a more offensive one...
It does this in Mozilla, as well (at least, version 1.4.1)
Care to back that up? I'm running Slack 9.1 right now, and especially with the apt-get-like "swaret", I'm loving it. Near as I can tell, Patrick likes it, too...
Your Redhat (much as I dislike the distro) comment equally retarded. Just because "Red Hat Linux" is gone, doesn't make Fedora any less viable. Or for that matter, the 100's of other distro's out there.
But this is bullocks. Linux is just a kernel. Completely unusuable without things like ls and bash for example. And all those components are GNU components. Even the compiler to produce that kernel is GNU. The list goes on. Using Linux for the entire package is just as wrong as using just GNU.
Yup. Especially in embedded scenarios. Cuz what use would my linux based DSL router be without ls? or my dad's linux based PVR without bash?
Obvious examples aside, does Linux owe its adoption to GNU in its early stages? of course. But why should that negate the use of all the BSD, X11, etc utilities that are now available?
I find it somewhat strange that "Cell" is getting so much press and interest, nobody has built a chip at.065um yet and this may take years if they can fit 8 processors at 65nm they should be prototyping 4-6 processors at.09 or 2-4 at.13.
I think I speak for the rest of us (or maybe its just the Smirnoff talking) when I say: "wtf?"
Last I checked, they're running on donation money. Maybe they don't have the hardware/manpower to spare on full redundancy?

I am not interested in "pushed" multimedia, but imagine having your Gentoo packages already pre-fetched for you, whenever there's an update? Emerge and it just starts compiling w/out the download step. Mmmm...
Right, cuz Gentoo installations would just be so much better if we could skip that pesky download step. I mean, who wants to sit around waiting for something to download!
"We felt that because of bandwidth issues and, more importantly, the amount of information provided on the fourth disc, it would be redundant to include a director's commentary track on the title discs," Ward said.
Bullshit. Just tell the truth: For whatever reasons, Spielberg doesn't do commentaries. However I don't see why some other producer (Luca$) or writer (Kasdan) couldn't have provided a commentary. Citing "bandwidth issues" is a laugher. And I for one prefer to actually have a commentary while the movie is running. Just not the same hearing production insights on a bonus disc.
Well, I for one appreciate this bold step forward! It's nice in this era of flash websites and embedded midi files and full page pop up ads that someone is trying to save us some bandwidth! It's about time that these movie companies are embracing P2P users, rather than threatening! So thanks Paramount, Lucasarts and all others.

Carriage returns?
Dear God. So it was the Athenians who started this whole survivor mess....

I can just see how that meeting would go...

Hmmm... let's be honest, /. needs a mod, "+1, Knows A Hot Chick"
Are you guys retarded?

Why is this modded up to insightful, instead of funny?
Troll.

I could buy Suse 8.2 CD's or I could download Mandrake 9.1 CD's. I think I'll stick w/ the distro that lets me know what I"m getting ahead of time.
Not only that, but Mandrake 9.1 is 1.10976 times better than Suse 8.2!
