You can't. So prepare to teach Wipro how to do your job.
I work for a Fortune 15 pharmaceuticals company. You don't keep application management and support around for the good times. You keep them around for the bad times and thats a growing pain all IT dept's are facing as we are all pushed under the magnifying glass. Gone are the days of "what? IT? throw money at it!!!" out of fear. Here are the days of "global IT services". If they can find a way to do it cheaper, they will and they will do it at the cost of quality.
Still, the company I work for is slowly beginning to realize the importance of having someone who speaks passable English available during a crisis situation and with any luck your company will realize that before shipping your job off to Bangalore.
republicans have many more conservative, christian, censoring, steak and eggs, pick-up truck etc... members than the democrats who tend to be known for their tree hugging, vegan, liberal, gay etc...
What these two groups hold to be morally important tend to be different.
Is that why the FCC head (appointed by the current admin) is pushing to get the power to force the same decency standards on cable TV as it has on regular publicly accessible broadcasts?
Why every show on Fox News this past Dec. was about "The War on Christmas!!" or maybe thats why everything Bush does now is a mandate from God.
Only Dem I can think of that is that bad is Hillary....
"... representing such organisations as the EFF and Craigslist... "
...and Moveon.org and the Gun Owners of America, and Civic Action, and the Cancer Online Resources etc...
In total this coalition has more than 15 million people in it according to USA Today.
BTW, AOL just announced that it is going to be raising its general monthly fee as well. Either they will drop this e-mail tax crap or they will lose those idiots who are still subscribed to their
"internet" service
....well I would like to see these people try and live with the large amount of transactions that we make every day because of both the growing population level and the growing middle class represented world wide. I would also like to see a government that would be able to handle a population this size without it. I would also like to see a nation that is ran freely and with as transparent a government as we now have (thanks to blogs etc...) without it.
***please add to the list as I would love to see how many things we can find that would be impossible to do without the technology that we have today***
riiiiiiiight, soooo we couldnt have helped them rebuild their country after the Soviet's attacked?
Too bad we got ourselves into a bidding war with the Soviets BEFORE THEY ATTACKED when both us and the Soviet's decided that we would woo the afghans by building them roads and hospitals!!!
...number 8 is "Information Knows No Borders"
I spent most of middle school and high school on my computer. I grew up learning as much as I could about them. Part way through my 7th grade year I heard about nano-tech.
As google grew in power I, like most, wanted to know more about them so I looked into what they did as a company. I saw what I liked. They were said to be doing more for the open source community and on top of that I loved their services. Their mission statement especially impressed me.
When I heard that they were opening a new lab that would focus on combining bio, nanotech and comp sci I decided that I wanted to work there...
Now....eh.... lets just say that its s bit of a let down
I am really looking forward to the Revolution. I'm not going to lie, I am a fanboy. I love Nintendo and Sega and can't wait for the Revolution to come out. I think that the Revolution will appeal greatly to casual gamers because of the simple controller and the price.
What I do not think is that it is going to get as many cross platform games as this guy is suggesting. The fact that they are not using these "exotic" parts means that they will not be able to get these games from the multi-processor multi-vidcard systems to run without greatly cutting back on the amount of detail, size of levels etc...
Also, I am not sure if this guy has just heard that the controller is cool or if he has actually taken the time to look at the damn thing but guess what - the Nintendo controller is not exactly covered in buttons. How does he think they are going to adapt the controls from an X-box game to work on the Revolution's?
I think that the Nintendo's innovation with the Revolution will garner it a large user base and plenty of support from developers but this guy has got it all wrong if he thinks porting things to it is going to be as easy as just developing for the 360 and ps3.
thats not in reversal to his previous rantings. that is also my point. he says one thing but does another. did you see the quote in the slashdot article?
He suffers from the same view that makes me unable to put up with most conservatives and christians. Despite my typically liberal (democrat) views I think it is honestly going to keep me from voting for Hillary in the coming election (and dont act like she isnt going to run) to.
He thinks that its ok to censor what other people do. As if by putting all of these restrictions on video games he can push ALL of the gamers into quiting this horrible habit and make them go outside and do "normal things. This is not his concern and people who think that they are right in trying to force their views down other people's throats really get to me. It isnt a matter of whether or not kids can get their hands on this stuff. He has shown time and time again that he has nothing but disdain for gamers in general. Its kind of like the ultra conservative christians pushing to put the same bans on cable television that they do on the airwaves. Guess what, it is service that people pay for from a company who has decided to sell it and nobody is forced to pay for it.
I guess what I am saying is that it would be different if he wanted to only keep kids from playing these games but it is becoming more and more clear that he wants to destroy the industry as a whole because what they produce disagrees with his views of what is right and what is wrong.
I feel the same way about feminists trying to ban porn and Christians trying to censor PRIVATELY OWNED cable and satelite channels.
As a matter of fact I am half black and I am against people trying to censor hate material as well.
This is a road we do not want to start down. All it takes is a few steps in the wrong direction to put us in a hole we can't get out of.
This is clearly written from the view of an economist
A sociologist would agree with the views expressed by most of those in the "community"
Thing is, look at the motivation behind those people who develop the software. There are people out there who do not use databases who are developing db management software just for the hell of it.
The fact that people are doing this shows that it has nothing to do with their inability to or refusal to buy commercial software.
ummm...yea. To bad these things SHOULD GO TO US!!!
I mean, its not like we are fucking paying for it with our tax dollars or anything.
You are right, the things on your list did go to the private sector eventually but the point the grandparent is trying to make is that they should have gone towards saving lives before they go towards ending them. His portrayel of the typical conservative view was pretty accurate.
The fact that they all were doing it doesn't land the blame soley on his shoulders either.
If it is bad enough to be considered a felony then why aren't the rest of them being charged with at least something?
If I get a group of people together and tell them to all drive out there and pass stopped school busses then do I go to jail for commiting a felony?? Yes, I do. The people who passed the bus? Its not like they are getting out of it for pointing and saying well he told me so!!! May sound kind of stupid but I am a product of the Ohio schools and I know the kind of BS administrators there will try and pull...
where does aol fall on this list again?
You do realize that they send unwanted advertisements to their own customers right?
Its not as if they are related to AOL services either. For the right price your ad can be sent by AOL to an AOL subscriber FROM AOL
and even then not all lines are analog, trust me I deal with it every day.
I work for a major distributor of pharmaceuticals and our proprietary software uses a modem to dial out to our modem bank and place an order.
I would say that half of all of the communications issue calls that we get in from the 6,000+ customers using this software are due to people being switched over to digital lines without getting a filter for the modem. Only a quarter of those calls are from bad modems with the other quarter being actual software issues.
The age of dial up is coming to an end, if not because of how cheap broadband is then because the lines can no longer support it.
"The national government of France is divided into an executive, a legislative and a judicial branch. The President has a degree of direct executive power, but most executive power resides in his appointee, the Prime Minister. The President's choice for Prime Minister must have the confidence of the National Assembly, the lower house of Parliament; also the Prime Minister is always from the majority party in that house."
Sounds to me like they are
I think they probably could have worded this a little better. They are making it sound like these "deputies" are not a part of the government as the "government" is going to fight them. It is not as if these are some rebels in the foot hills making their own laws.
Good, as has been said many times before ID is not science. A scientific theory can be tested. ID can not be tested. As a child, the scientific method is one of the first things we learn in science classes. How can we justify throwing it out the window because it disagrees with religion. I am all for teaching religious beliefs (after all it is something that touches more people deeper than art ever could and we have classes for that) but teach it in a class about religion. Teach christian's creationist views, the Hindu's views on creation, the Muslim's etc...
This is one step in the right direction for a country whos science and math scores have been slipping ridiculously considering the amount of money that we have compared to the other nations of the world to throw at education.
You can't. So prepare to teach Wipro how to do your job.

"Apple would be silly sticking to an inferior product for 2 more years."
No, Apple would be silly to piss off all of those people with their brand new shiny Intel based machines by switching back to IBM.
