I have this recording on mp3 on my phone. Gotten quite a few laughs when I have played it from people who otherwise would not have come across it and even got some Now Show listeners in the process.:-D N
Britain does not have constitution in the sense of a single document, but in effect the constitution is passages, sentences and laws spread out across thousands of documents.
Whereas most people in the UK consider the Euro court of human rights to be a bunch of interfering busy bodys or jobsworths, and in general most of the rulings they come up with do come across as 'annoying'. Ruling like this however are the reason the court was set up. I do hope this ruling stands and that this court will continue to keep its eye on privacy issues like this and prove to the population in general that it does have a purpose.
Problem is that the cable would also have to traverse several miles of dirt tracks, cross several miles of sheep infested fields and dodge hundreds of trac'ers and comboine 'arvsters ohh arrr
The 60% mentioned are probably just Joe public who just uses the internet ocasionally, or just to check email, like the AOL'ers. Thing wrong with using AOL if all your going to do is check your email once or twice a week or so, and to check something out. For instance if they see a webpage advertised in conjunction with an advert on the TV or on a programme.
Yup, this is one thing I will be showing the director of the museum that I volunteer at. I was hoping that when we get funding to construct the new building that it wont be squanded on things that can be obtained for free... licenses for instance...... If you are gonna have a multimedia kiosk running for instance to show how something works (A large steam pump for instance) Do you really need (or indeed want) to fork out a load of money when you can just sling linux on a resonable machine. Possably use Mozilla or something with a modified chrome, and do something you can walk away from.
Just a small plug for one of the incarnations of his game MUD2 www.mudii.co.uk.Having also met Richard at a few mudmeets (where the players and wizzes all meet up in a pub and get very drunk:-)) not only is he clever with the text based games, he is also a funny chap.
That would be the APT project, although it was canceled back in the 1980s, there are 2 preservation groups trying to preserve the last 2 trains www.apt-e.org and www.apt-p.com
It was a set. Researchers from the film co went to the London Transport Museum to do some research and also went down into an abandoned station (sorry not sure which) You can tell it is on a set because the platform is too short. About 3 carriages at most
When i was reading the article i was thinking 'why do we need another bl**dy disk copier/ghoster/whateverer' But the link states that it can be used with all file systems, which is something i have yet to see in other utilities.
Good on the chap who wrote it. I definantly will be using this in future.
In a recent article in an English magazine 'Linux Format', it had a sort of guide to the dmca, what it meant etc, some of the things it went on about was that if Sklyarov was released, it could mean that the DMCA could be removed from US law, also being an infingement of the US's first amendment (freedom of speech)
Mostly though, i think most people should be thinking, 'WHAT HAPPENS NOW'.
What is the next direction for the goverment, and the anti-DMCA people (people with common sense) and where will this put the SSSCA.
Refer them to the reply given in the case of Arkell v. Pressdram.

The earliest mud was written at Colchester University back in 1979. Check out http://www.mud.co.uk/ for a history.
It's modern day versions are still running at www.mud2.co.uk and www.mud2.com
