Never thought of that - perhaps they should open the parks and allow RC racing early in the morning, like before you have to go to work. Maybe THAT is what the government should be legislating instead! I personally fully believe in the right to race RC cars before 6am.
Only for things that don't move while you take those 1000 pictures.
Ever see those pictures of a fullback diving over the goal line? You only get a second or so to make that shot - you have to make it count.
Try this - go find a critter (squirrel, bird etc.) and decide to take it's picture. Get a good one. It's quite a different story to get a good picture when you need it, vs getting 1000 pictures and picking the best 10.
let's see - 45 degrees is 'cold' at least in comparison to things like the sun. Creating helium from hydrogen..sound like fusion to me, so how is this not cold fusion?
If they have $50 for an entire month how much interest have you lost? At 4% APR it is a whopping $0.16. I don't think "sane people" spend much time worrying about $0.16.
Yeah, but if you are talking about a year that's $1.92. And then if you consider the power of compound interest, in only 10 years you could save enough to actually buy a book!! Well, a cheap book, at todays prices...but still a book!
Define best cooling agent available - if you are cooling something at over 100C and you can't pressurize it, water really rather sucks as a cooling agent. So too if you are cooling something below 0C and don't put in some additives to prevent freezing.
Liquid metals generally have a higher heat capacity per unit volume than water and better conductivity, but are much more expensive, and depending upon the metal can be dangerous if leaked.
So if cost is no object, the temperature range is correct and if the liquid can be safely contained then liquid metals are much better coolants than water.
99% of gun use is against people? Right...if that were the case there'd be no people left.
Go down to your local shooting club and see...or perhaps to your local hunting ground (the kind of hunting ground where you are not allowed to hunt people).
And here's me being all for gun control...of course one accidental death caused by a poorly controlled gun is certainly much worse than one accidental copyright infringement caused by poor downloading habits.

When is 720p Not 720p?

perhaps your projector is properly combining the 2 1080i fields and downsampling as opposed to discarding half.
. But many displays do this by discarding half of the 1080i HD signal, effectively giving 720p viewers an SD signal - not watching HD at all! "
(B) faster flash recovery --> Actually, yes, this will; the more current the battery can deliver, the quicker the capacitors will charge up.
Thus A is also true if you are waiting for the flash to recover before taking the next shot.
(C) faster battery powered toys If on the other hand it uses any sort of a voltage or current regulation system, no, it won't move any faster.
Even if they use a voltage regulator, they will move at the same speed for longer, thus being 'faster' after the older batteries begin to wear down (just like on the energizer bunny commercials)
(D) brighter flashlights Of course, you'll also cause the bulb to burn out quicker.
I either lose the flashlight or break the bulb long before the batteries die.
I wonder what Alexander Graham Bell would have been told if he'd shown up at the patent office years earlier and said "I've got this idea about a theoretical device called a 'telephone' that will encode a voice into electrical signals which will pass through wires to another 'telephone' which will turn the signals back into sound"
I'd say claiming matrix as prior art is about as sensible as claiming this generic idea patentable...
I was on a flight a couple of months, sat in united economy plus and there was electrical outlets in the seat back in front of me - plugged my laptop in and played TotalWar for almost the whol 5 hour flight. Without AC it usually drains my battery in less than 2 hours, so I was a happy camper..errr air traveller.
Others have mentioned myth TV, which is Yet Another option, but it won't cut out the ads,
Actually the mythtv commercial detect is very accurate on most shows, and can be set to automatically skip the commercials it detects. I still use it in 'manual' mode, as it is not 100% accurate, so I have to hit one button on my remote to skip the whole commercial break.
Far superior in one way, but somewhat inferior in another...
Li-Po batteries are used mainly for weight reduction over li-ions. I'm assuming they chose Li-pofor this application to keep the weight down as much as possible while still providing much capacity.
If you RTFS...jeez even the summary, you'd find "Some RFID tags can store up to 1 kB of data" and if you actually made it to the article (silly me), you'd find "Some RFID tags can store up to 1 kB of data, which is enough to store gzipped SID-files"
and of you'd made it even further into the article...
A very nice feature is that you can put a stack of tags near the reader, and they will act as a playlist.

Why is this 'horked'?
Sounds like David posted to both places...which is well within his rights to do. Seems like it was interesting enough for both places to post.

Unless of course it's a total hoax.

Not sure of the legalities, but it doesn't seem to be all that difficult - and you get to eat a whole can of pringles guilt free...

Well, lets see, 1.8" form factor an 16GB, vs M-Systems 1.8" form factor with 8GB a doubling of capacity for 1.8" form factor.
Or maybe the Samsungs 57/32 MBPS Read/Write vs 16.8 MBPS burst read/write for M-Systems.
I'm guessing the only news is an anonymous whiner on slashdot...oops - guess there is no news after all.
or even better, looking at an Adobe advertisement banner and *then* getting the idea to grab photoshop :)
electrocute Audio pronunciation of "electrocute" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-lktr-kyt)
tr.v. electrocuted, electrocuting, electrocutes
1. To kill with electricity: a worker who was electrocuted by a high-tension wire.
2. To execute (a condemned prisoner) by means of electricity.
So we should electrocute them to death to death and until they are no longer livng, and also dead?

2. All communications with the chip will be encrypted using a session key so that no one can eavesdrop when the passport is being read.
I think you meant to say it is encrypted with a session key so that eavesdropping will be more difficult, at least with current technology.
tomorow is bad for me - I plan to stop procrastinating then.

I have a problem with paying $10 for a movie ticket and then being forced to watch a commercial.
You could always close your eyes - then you wouldn't have to watch!

exactly how is it blatantly illegal?
No really, I want to know...
and if you use a bad title for your post, people bitch...
:)
I think people just like to bitch...
hmm - should have invested 6 minutes, I guess...

Logically, for Intel to compete against the Mac Mini, they need to develop an iPod killer, not another desktop system.
Logically for me to respond to this comment, I would have to eat 3 soft boiled eggs with rye toast.
So to compete against the Mac Mini they should kill an entirely different product? I don't get it...and I defintiely don't get the logically part.
