Currently we use small monkeys to help out the disabled and frail (pray for mojo) if these little robots continue improving they could be a much cheaper and better alternative
I've got an Acorn Achimedes with an ARM 3 (8mhz)and 4MB ram in it along with 500 MBharddrive. If this were a PC is might just run linux.
It runs a FULL GUI with anti aliased fonts. Multitasking and a better DTP program than i have on my 2 ghz PC. I easily drag stuff from my scientific notation package to a WP.
I rekon that Nintendo could easily do this with all the Nintendo and Rare made games. Imagine every mario/donkey kong/zelda/pinbot/snakeratle n role/ et al from the NES and SNES I know there were good games from lots of other companies but at the time nin had a big share in rare so maybe they would be easiest to get the licences for (maybe not after the MS buyout...)
I'd gladly pay for such a disc. From what i've read around with a dreamcast and a nes emulator this could be done but I am not sure how good those emulators are. Nintendos would be spot on. Hell they could bundle a nes type comtroller.
Plus everybody know SMB3 and SMW are the best two mario games ever.
One thing that a lot of sites arn't looking at is MINIMUM framerate. Sure a GF4 might pull 200fps in a quake3 benchy and that is fine but hwat about future games?
Say UT2003 the GF4 can go 30% faster in a benchmark but what happens when the going gets tough does one card drop to say 50% speed while the matrox card "might" not drop more than 10% even though its top speed isn;t as fast. This is the kind of information I would like to see in a graphics card review.
To be brutally honest I think I would much rather have one of these in my pc and any of the new Nvidia GF4/5 cards. I play games at 800x600 or 1024x768 which is the max nice res on a 17inch monitor. I dont really care about much abouve 50-75FPS.
What I am interested is a card that can pull frame rates near a GF4 card speed but with 2D that is superior and clear to look at. Dual or triple head out put is also a very nice feature for the workstation market.
Sure the artist should be credited for the creation of a song but why should a corporation I dont care about make 5 times the money the writer does. IP and copywrite needs a complete overhaul. Fair use people
It is about time the bigger well established artists started acting like this. They make far more money personing than via RIAA cds
Physics in general needs to figure out what the wavefunction does actually mean. The issue of the electrons in liquid helium being "split" but cern/slac et all have never donw this is interesting.
This guy maybe totally wrong but at least he is actually saying no I will try something else.. What if plank or einstein had never assume quantisation (ignoring boltzman and some statistical mecahnics) they assumed something everybody thought at the time was nuts. Now every physics student learns QM.
Maybe in 2102 we will look back and say wow those QM papers were silly
Actually a star gets brighter when there are sunspots on it! Yeah a bit weird a know but the darker spots are counter by brighter hotspots. Unfortunatly I cannot remember what these are caled but it is why there is a ~1-2% increase in light/heat radiation from the sun impacting the earth in sunspot maxima years.
It also had the most friendly GUI for a good 5-6 years. Yes there were macs but I had a 3 button gui wtih ANTIALIASED fonts in 1990 on an 8mhz Arm based risc machine (archi 420/1) took windows 5 years to get a start bar. Linux 10 years to get the fonts right. I am not trolling but riscos was an amazing os with a commoand line support structure as well.
The sound facilities were also really cool Sibelius started on the acorn machines....
Plus the earths magnetic field. What about the interaction with that or perhaps gravity
I was downloading this at 1.3MB/sec in the UK soon as it hit the front page on slashdot it dropped to 30KB/sec
Oh well
without the fun of drunk monkeys
The Fromage one is awesome HOW >>>>>?
The funny moderates you

If only modern stuff ran this well.
Iwillbe looking seriously at these things

Things like quidith where one person was lit from the left and the other was lit from the right.
I know it is a childrens movie but a lot of adults love Harry Potter and in this day and age effects like that should be spot on
Secret spy satlites. Moon mining? Nuclear powered aircraft out in Nevada.
Comedy alien answer: Nuke them from orbit.

In case I use information from a book in there to find another book elsewhere and use it for bad things!
Sounds like something apple would use in an advert
Thats damn funny

When was the last time you needed to count to that large a number
Prime numbers, large numerical simulations of gas glouds (yes I know there are other ways of doing this....)
An act of terrorism now..... Too hard to keep up with crazy US laws.
IAAP and what you say is correct
