Good thinking..but i was trying to justify the high cost vs. hardware that you get.. as seeing that the latest and greatest in small portable computers is half the price of this..whatever it is they're trying to pawn off as a real computer.. 266 pentium..just doesn't seem right...
Put one of these http://www.theregus.com/content/54/24709.html in your pocket i'm sure it will run your favorite flavor of *nix and it's half the price..with the docking station...
I saw this http://www.science-frontiers.com/sf025/sf025p11.ht m on discovery awhile back.. it looks like dry ice but is flamable and there is TONS of it just off the contenental shelf..unburned they say it's what ended the last ice age. Major release off of Norway or somewhere up there caused a huge relese of greenhouse gases. so to a) prevent the next release causing more glabal warming and b) to get cheap clean fuel..why not mine it..?
yea i've seen that business model too..i think crack dealers use it..give it to them for cheap.. or just give it to them..then they're hooked for life..and to boot the ones that don't use it have to pay as well..duh..if i can't use it or won't use it i shouldn't have to pay for it...and another thing... i wonder what the ethics boards at these schools think about doing business with convicted criminals...looks like they don't seem to mind
Somebody needs to slap this guy...teaching his son about patents using something so blatently obvious.. if he wanted to teach his kid something about inventions or patents he should have encouraged the child to think on his own and come up with an idea that was unique. So that way the kid would have learned about the patent process AND used his imagination. Patents are for unique ideas anyone trying to pass off comon everyday things should have to pay the Gov't for the wasted time and effort x10...... just my $.06 ECC
Well things ar a bit more expensive when you live here http://www.geocities.com/pennsol221 , as they say around here "price you pay to live in paradise":)
What's this guy going to do...hit up all the kiddies on the playground for thier lunch money...and if that doesn't work sue the parents for the iresponsable actions of the child for patent infringment...DUH
and the funny part is Taco posted the story and he gets modded Off-topic...how's that for poetic justice...and Rob good job, the Hemos e-mail was funny....
The thing that i find anoying is that hte y ask for cash to submit a URL.. now with google you can submit one for free, hell at least your listed. I don;t much care how far up the chart my site is, it's very specialized and gets good ratings anyway, but at least you'd think this company would like to provide a better service(see:at least they have what your looking for)so that more people will use it(see:more trafic means more AD $$$)i'll stick with Google thank you very much....
Just for reference i live in the Virgin islands, and shipping is a BIG deal. Most companys i deal with will ship overnight at thier expense to replace a bad part. So searching the internet is a good place to start. And most offer a 1 year warrenty on bad parts...
go to see someone doing a full out review....

As a Retail level tech i spend most of my days answering questions, Some good, and as you would expect some i just roll my eyes at and walk away. It's good to see someone out there has done a pretty comprehesive review of ALL mobo makers. I personally use Asus and MSI. I've had the best experience with both, not to say i've never RMAed a board by either (1 to each company) but as i see it in the years i've been doing this i've installed well over 5,000 mobos. As with any product the makers of mobos do run into issues, like certian runs of a problem board, i've seen at least 1 bad board by every one if theose companys listed, some i've sent them all back (see:Soyo), so it's good judgment to do a little asking around before you buy. Don't jsut listen to one opinion you'll hate that friend, co-worker, relative later for giving you bad advice. I do agree with most of the findings in this article I'd personally rate MSI a bit higher, and shuttle a bit lower but then again that's just my opinion/experience..another word to the wise.. Where you get your board will have a great effect on your buying experience. Stick with well known companys with good return policies. You will one day get a bad board, trust me when i say this, what happens after you figure out the board is flawed and needs RMAed means alot. Some companys will tell you that your SOL and need to send it back to the maker for replacment which is all fine and dandy but can take some time. (around 6-8 weeks)where as the supplier can get you a ned board in a week. Someone now needs to do a comprehesive write up about the suppliers and we'll be all set.
The problem with this is easly explaned by going to www.cnn.com and doing a search for CBDTPA, guess what this "Big News" or as something that effects the world around you, get a "no matches found". and of course if you look up SSSCA you find one article and it's about Dmitry Sklyarov "ARRESTED HACKER". As you can clearly see the "Conetnt Owners" i.e. the "Big Media" don't want the average joe to find out what is going on... add to your mailing list of congress persons and senators ANY AND ALL media outlets that are not owned by AOL/TW or Disney.. some one has to let the masses know and you can bet your ass it's not going to be them....
Better yet put on INSIDE someones computer case.. preferably a paraniod or a PITA user.. so when they clicl on certian icons or do some thing stupid they get.wav clips of 2001 space Odyssey....dave...what are you doing dave.. i can let you do that.... should save a tech call or two in the future.. or would be fun... no mam..i don't hear anything..;)

I live in the US Virgin Islands, our local ISP http://www.viaccess.net has a system called WDSL http://www.wdsl.net its been up for almost three years, for those with friends that work there,:)
it gets you 1-3 Mbit depending on how much you give them $79 - $200 respectively and its synch i have a local FTP server i use for file transfers and get good speeds.. sometimes we get a few bandwitdh issues since our stateside connection is shared between three islands, four ISPs and the phone company but that problem is being solved soon.. upgrade in the fiber system.. anyway it works without any major problems their's about 200 customers on it as of now and whene they get the bandwidth problems worked out they'll start selling it again..imagine that an ISP that doesn't over sell a product..till they have the available bandwidth...
As far as states go sure, But the american flag and the plaque put up by the U.S.G.S. survey team proclaming Point Udall is "The southeastern most point of the United States" wasn't my imaginaton. it's there... still 86 and sunny.. i may just go out there for lobster today...time for the beach..;)
IIRC this is in the same ballpark as what the Nazi party did with the Hitler youth.. i.e. blond hair blue eyes only kind of thing.. maybe not to the extreemes but it's a start.. where is the end? I personally have problems i'd like to have been born without i.e. athsma, alergies, baldness at a young age but they are the things that make me..well me. I've never been against abortion and there may be things that this world could do without. things that are truly life threatening to the child but if you think your child will have Alzheimer's i think you should just not have a child. and as far as abortion goes..think before you act is the best policy.(read:birth control)

No metion of the price of these, but one can figure they'd be a bit more than the 3 for a buck deal you get at your local 7eleven...:)
Works on XP with IE6 current patches..this is why i use Opera 6.1....DUH!
