Looks like there's finally a market for my new product idea: A code obfuscator that also accesses a thesaurus to substitute different meaningful identifier names!
Of course, if the person in question wouldn't enjoy working for a 'thumper (they probably wouldn't, since porn is a possible job route), it's no big deal to be judged by them. The relevant question is: "will mainstream employers be put off?"
If you follow the link, you'll see: "equipment was well-packed (bubble wrap, etc)"
A computer in bubble-wrap is not well-packed! By my estimation, there are only 2 ways to have a well-packed computer: 1. Original packaging or 2. foam in place
Next time, call around to professional shippers who can do this. I just sent my Compaq tower this way and it cost about $60 US, and next time I have to ship it, I'll have a perfect box!

If you are so sure of your beliefs, why are you posting as an Anonymous Coward? I won't argue theology with you if you don't show a name.

...The bible teaches us to question our own reality and our beliefs...
Unfortunately, not everyone reads it that way. While I'm not religious, my favorite thing to say to pushy religious zealots is: "Since God gave me the gift of a mind capable of logic and questioning, I'd be insulting Him if I didn't use it."

Saying that Pascal believed in God is a little weak. Look at Plato's Wager:
...Wagering for God superdominates wagering against God: the worst outcome associated with wagering for God (status quo) is at least as good as the best outcome associated with wagering against God (status quo); and if God exists, the result of wagering for God is strictly better that the result of wagering against God. (The fact that the result is much better does not matter yet.) Pascal draws the conclusion at this point that rationality requires you to wager for God....
In a nutshell, he said: "Its no big deal if I believe and I'm wrong, but I'll go to hell if I don't believe and I'm wrong. I guess I'll believe."
Not to mention, it'd be easy to make a list of wacked-out minds who believe in God.
Hopefully at the end of the interview you asked when you could expect to hear, and asked permission to follow up shortly after that if you didn't hear. If you didn't, telephone and tell the interviewer that you forgot to ask.

This is, IMHO, a bad thing. But I'll be more worried when they start taking words out of the spelling checker. That's when they'll be denying the very existance of words.
I like the idea of "white hat" viruses, or virii that actually do constructive things like plug holes, or notify sysadmins of security breaches
A two-word problem with allowing "white hat" viruses: "Unintended Effects". Do you think no well-intentioned "white hat" will ever create a serious problem that s/he never foresaw?
One copy? How about a truckload???

The worst case estimate of when any project will be completed is never. Do you tell that to management and customers?

this page tells about their next project: a watch that can transmit viruses to other watches! I want one!
This WSJ article says "You can also run the organizer functions with the phone functionality turned off..."
You just have to convince the flight attendant.

Why not non-expanding foam? Seems like it would be easier to get the right fit.
"UPS does not accept hazardous materials at UPS Letter Centers, UPS Customer Counters, commercial counters, or as infrequent (one-time) pickups." Your idea is a great way to get your package refused.
