We provided stinger missiles to the mujahadeen in afghanistan. This is what stopped the russians in their tracks. It was Reagan's policies that led to the destruction of the USSR. Bin Laden had nothing to do with it. He's only claiming credit for it.
Bin Laden says he'll spare any state that voted for Kerry. That includes New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. What is he going to bomb? I mean, what target is left that will hurt the economy while killing as many as possible?
Rehnquist(sp?) is ultra conservative already. Replacing him with another conservative wouldn't change the left-right balance of the supreme court.
ruining Social Security
It's already ruined, for my generation anyway. I don't really believe that Kerry would have somehow fixed social security.
relationships with allies severed
They're not exactly severed. And the relationships with some are just fine. Japan? UK? Poland? Russia? Every country is responding differently to the currect situation. I think they're all showing their true colors.
inability for Americans to safely travel overseas
You could also argue that a president weak on terrorism could reduce safety while traveling. I suspect it will always be dangerous for americans to go to the middle east and always be safe for americans in europe, even France.:-)
the imposition of fundamentalist christian morality on all citizens (prayer in school,
Prayer in school will never be a requirement. You don't have to participate, but one person shouldn't be able to stop the prayer when a significant majority of people in that school want it.
no abortion,
Not everyone thinks it's ok. And those people are entitled to their opinions just as you are.
discrimination and violence against gays,
Violence is violence. It should be punished as such, not subject to special hate crime laws. Christians don't attack gays, violent people do. A violent homophobe may call himself a christian, but I don't know any christians like that, nor do I know any who would think that's ok.
teaching creationism, etc)
We don't want creationism taught as fact instead of evolution. We want both subjects taught in the right contexts. I took more than one class in high school that focused on the other religions in the world. Not one of them covered christianity. Also, not everyone thinks evolution is a slam-dunk explanation for where we come from, but it's taught as indisputable fact.
I think what the left perceives as the right trying to subvert the system to their cause, the right perceives as a nothing less than descrimination against christians. It's a tug of war. The right way to be is somewhere in the middle. But extremists on both sides will always try to steer the system in their direction. Maybe it makes for a good system of checks and balances.
Face it, Americans have voted to deny their shame. Bush told them that the US had done right. Kerry told them it had done wrong. They drank the koolaid. It's going to take another full Vietnam-sytle awfulness for Americans to change course; they're incapable of seeing disaster until after it's happened.
I find it ironic that you're more willing to accuse 51% of the american population of being in denial rather than accepting youself that 51% of the american population may be right.
Back in 1983, I went on a guided tour of a panasonic site in japan. One of the things they demonstrated for me was a radio that used bone conduction. The cool thing was that you could place it anywhere on your skull and it sounded the same. I sounded at least as good as the walkmans at the time I was listening to. So it may not be able to do highs and lows very well, but neither can a lot of portable headphones. As a side benefit, it didn't leak sound the way most headphones do.
Ive had it for an entire year and haven't used up the toner cartridge it came with.
I got fed up with ink jet printers about for years ago. I was going through them like candy. I had an HP that was back to the shop a few times. Some of them mangled paper. Some produced heavy banding. The HP ate ink jet cartridges. It would clog the nozzles and make them useless. So I chucked them all and bought a minolta color laser printer for $1000. It's been perfect. It's never jammed. I'm still on the original cartriges. And it works over the network. The latest version of this printer is now $600 I believe. After we moved recently, I found a canon lbp-430 that had been stored for years. This is the same engine as the HP 4L. I dusted it off and plugged it into my daughter's computer. Works great. Prints a little slow, but perfectly. I bought this printer 10 years ago! And it's still on it's original cartrige.
It doesn't matter who wins the presidency. Nothing will happen. At first I was going to say that the president only signs laws. It's up to congress to change the law. But in the end, this is now the Corporate States of America. And no one in Washingon will ever get off the gravy train.
Imagine a single XBOX doing all the calculations by itself.
You mean cowardess. Otherwise, you're correct. And it irritates me also.
No Fucking in the Recreation Area
Let the corny jokes commence.
We call it maize.
Or maybe they just shoot people instead of locking them up. (and send the bill for the bullits to their families)
there is only 117 years of Uranium left
Most middle eastern countries have oil reserves that will only last that long.

Sounds great. I wonder why Linus left.
This is FUD:

I would love for my country to return to these things, but we're being forced to choose between a douche and a turd sandwich.
It's the French word for "shower", which also happens to be used by the Russians.
la la da ta bwa bwa
Just record it and play it back for them after they learn how to speak.
Identity theft can destroy people, literally.
Who's the real criminal here? Those who exploit the system, or those who allow the system to be exploited?
Kerry is smarter then my dog.
Ah, but can your dog tell the difference between then and than?

Anyone know why? I don't know I'm asking. I bet it's a preemptive action to prevent DDOS attacks from outside.
That's ok. It doesn't matter. When they do the PC remake in a few years, he'll be holding the flashlight anyway.

To boldy shat where no one has shat before?
Maybe he's really just after some green alien pussy.
They probably really can't find the code. I used to work for IBM. I've seen them lose source for their products myself.
