That still doesn't mean you couldn't put a web based front end that talks back to the cobol running on the AS/400 (iSeries). We do this all of the time. The cobol is probably very fast and efficient. It just needs a better user interface.
This question has bothered me for years. How do places like this along with the numerous I heart NY t-shirt shops make enough money to pay Manhattan rents? It seems like their margins would be so tight that just staying open would be a miracle.
"In addition, Amazon announced that it has selected Nashville for a new Center of Excellence for its Operations business, which is responsible for the companyâ(TM)s customer fulfillment, transportation, supply chain, and other similar activities. The Operations Center of Excellence in Nashville will create more than 5,000 jobs with an average wage of over $150,000."
And this is why there needs to be choice. Different work styles work for different people. I'd rather come into the office and get my work done. I am just as productive in four hours as I am in eight hours. If I were just sitting around churning out code or reports that may be different, but the actual intellectual part of what I do doesn't get better because I'm expected to be "at work" for eight hours in a day.
No. Not really. Other things she had started like the Major League Soccer team have gone through. If you look at the results it was obvious that if the "non-traditional" voters hadn't have shown up that it would have passed with no issue.
We had a pretty forward looking transit plan up for a vote here in Nashville recently. It really was quite innovative and had good support.
The Koch Brothers came in and spent millions on anti-transportation ads. They rallied the residents in lower income areas behind the idea that they were going to be stuck with old buses when the more affluent areas would get the new infrastructure.
The proposal was voted down with more votes from those precincts casting ballots than for almost any other election.
So if the goods, in this case book, never actually change hands, then why not advertise it as something that could plausibly be worth that amount of money to reduce suspicion?
They said it would take about five hours for them to get out. And some of that is in very confined passageways filled with murky water.
Most of these kids don't even know how to swim. Imagine the panic attacks and resultant thrashing that could happen. They could kill themselves and the rescuers.
Someone thought they should dumb down the application linked in the summary so that members of Congress could understand it, so much so that it ended up in the official document.

Just wait until all of our cars are electric only. Can you imagine Florida after a hurricane or California after the next big earthquake? Are the California legislators going to allow exemptions to the electric only car mandate to government agencies?
An acquaintance of mine has been sitting in County for five months so far for this with no trial, just a two minute pleading of not guilty in front of a judge.
He selected all of the top downloads on emule or something like that and one video happened to be a plant.
No other priors, no evidence of actively searching this out. He said he didn't even know he had downloaded it because he hadn't gone through the files yet.
I do believe him, and what we've heard from the public defender corroborates his explanation.
I used GEOS! And I don't remember Pete. He must have not been in the cool crowd.

Why not just build a system around a Crusoe processor at home and let it emulate anything you want to eventually run the software being developed on?
Seems pretty cut and dry to me.
It's all in their private cloud, of course!

Just wait until they're stuck in a hurricane with no internet access. That little battery/wind-up radio would be a godsend.
