Some schools used it to teach programing, and there is a multi volume textbook by Brian Harvey called "Computer Science - Logo Style", and it can be used that way if it is done well, but there isn't really anything that would make it somehow better than other languages for that purpose. It should be noted that this textbook is available for free (for personal use)
This would be great for language learning. You could just cut and paste in a foreign language text, choose a voice appropriate to that language, and hear approximately how a native speaker would pronounce it. I wish there was a Mandarin version.
MacMinix already exists. Unfortunately it only runs as an application on top of a Classic MacOS system (I assume it runs on MacOS 9, I haven't run it since MacOS 6 or 7).

In fantasy on the other hand, the author is always free to break the rules and use Magic as a Deus Ex Machina.
