PBS, as a whole, receives between 15%-40% of their funding from the government, depending on which side makes them look better on any given day. Currently, they are leaning toward the 1/3rd mark because of a bill that's running through congress that would limit their funding--and they want us to know how much they would be affected.
Neil Brown, mdadm maintainer, has added the ability to grow (i.e., add disks) RAID5 arrays to mdadm (2.5) and sent the related patches up the 2.6.17 tree. Compiling 2.6.17-rc5 now to give it a go. I've seen reports of success on usenet, so I'm cautiously optimistic. This could be a great time-saver.
Sounds like a crummy brand. I haven't experienced this, but maybe I haven't been looking for it. Perhaps if it's a light that you seldom use, using a bulb rated higher than your needs will give you the output you actually want during warmup time?
Keep in mind that these employees aren't developers and it is likely the company had no intention to ever put them in such a role. Licensing it to the company is exactly what they should do.
Not necessarily -- Cartoon Network picked up Family Guy and Futurma, but the new episodes of Family Guy are for Fox. I think it's more of a licensing agreement.
GamesIndustry.biz is full of speculation on this one, and I am perfectly capable of matching them on their bullshit blow-by-blow if this is what they call news.
It is just as possible that Microsoft may include updates to 'classic' titles as part of their basic/free Live service.

Bacteria cause ulcers. The peppers just happen to create a lot of what makes those ulcers truly painful.. :)
PayPal is top on my list of evil Internet companies. Maybe it's top on Google's as well.
720p projectors are becoming affordable, and 480 lines just aren't enough for a 90" screen.
.. when they've mapped out Nethack.
No, really. I'm stuck.

You're catching cached dynamic URLs referencing the 42nd of something. They like to make things seem more secure this way.
Are they including any term of free XBox Live with the $399 version? That could be another cost.. .. Will there be advertising on XBox Live?
Here's a fairly accurate report on the current state of satellite Internet service.
THAT'S GOTTA HURT!
I don't think so. OpenOffice is just simply and horribly bloated.
Install MS Office in CrossOver. Run this and compare it with OpenOffice. MS Office in CrossOver is still much faster and more responsive.
Though I heard that disabling Java in OpenOffice helps things considerably?

Wouldn't using a laptop largely defeat the purpose of having a server closet? ;)

This is complete bullshit. Much like those "Tornado Air Chargers," but for the idiot with deep pockets.
If you want good gas mileage, convince someone to release a decent diesel-electric hybrid car.
Alternatively, take that $3000 and find yourself a used Geo Metro in decent condition and you'll be right at 50mpg with cash to spare.
Fuck that. If the theater is going to charge as much as my maid service, that's how they will be treated.
You don't walk into a restaurant, sit down at a dirty table and think "My God, the previous people to eat here were complete slobs!"
I would be more inclined to not leave my $10 popcorn + Coke "VALUE COMBO" under my seat if there hadn't been trash there to begin with.
Wouldn't this debris signify the comet being 'looser' and thus more likely to burn up in the atmosphere anyway?

Be careful with turning the key off completely!
In most cars, your wheel will lock so now you find yourself in the precarious position of cruising at 90mph without steering.
Excellent. Thanks for the explanation!
