As a Badnarik supporter I enjoy the sentiment of what Mr. Badnarik and Mr. Cobb did and agree whole heartedly with them, but I'm not exactly sure how this help's the "radical" third party's persona.
I realize this is going to get them attention, but is it going to help their cause?
any chance for/. interviews with the candidates for the issues that concern us nerds? I mean, this new sub section would hopefully give/. a little more clout.
Even if you don't care to tinker, his canned recipes work right out of the box...
I'm reasonbly efficiant in the kitchen but I've had nothing but problems with his recipes, after having 3 or 4 turn out like total crap I gave up. (I was especially angry after his duck recipe.)
I much prefer America's Test Kitchen. not only do they get into the science of cooking but all of their recipes have been easy to do and spot on delicious. It's like Good Eats, but without the quirk that can become quite tiresome.
It's not that 'Vice City' wasn't a good game, in fact it's a great game. But even though it was a great game it was a re-hash, it was basically exactly like GTA 3 with some bells and whistles. It was fun but nothing as mind blowing as GTA 3 was.
Your right even with minimal improvements it would still would be a great game, but to be perfectly honest it wouldn't really feel like a new game.
Is this is going to be something new or just the GTA engine with some minimal improvements and a new locale? My guess is that it's the later, from what I remember GTA 4 was supposed to be an all-together new game.
I think the general "gee-whiz" factor of owning 867-5309 would wear off really quickly. I know I called this number in the past, how many other people did too? I think the guy that is selling this is making a nice penny on his past headaches.
there were rumors floating about in regards to changes Lucas was supposedly making for the DVD edition. I guess we'll have to wait and see if it actually happens.
let's just hope this stays permanent. it's hard now to have a conversation with someone about the browser and/or the email client.
Person 1: "Hey I just started using Mozilla!" Person 2: "Oh yeah? 1.5?" Person 1: "No,.8" Person 2: "Oh you mean Firebird." Person 1: "No, I think it's Firefox." Person 3: "I loved that show on Fox, it's a shame they canceled it." Person 2: "You're thinking of Firefly." Person 1: "Wait, was that the one with the marionettes?" Person 3: "No, I think that's an email client."

Perhaps someone should comprise a list of things that should of been vaporware, for the sake of corporations that stupidly put them out and consumers who shelled out cash for them. NGage anyone?
So, no games or companies mentioned, no indication of what the launch titles would be, or if there was even any Phantom-exclusive original content planned. When asked directly just who Infinium had in their corner, Rob's reply was interesting: "I can tell you I can't tell you. I can tell you I'd like to tell you. I can tell you who we don't have. Do we have EA? No."
c'mon, why don't they just say it. we all know the launch title is Duke Nukem: Forever, why must they beat around the bush?
Maybe something like an episode maker. Include craploads of animations and sounds and graphics on a CD, or DVD even for the PC, and let people make Simpson's episodes.
Another good one, a virtual springfield. Pick any one of the zillion characters and live out their day in the town. Have multiple decision paths for each character, unlockable characters and a zillion minigames or some such to determine outcomes of things.
But I would have prefered the newest party line read: guarantees every American will have affordable access to health care within five years.
oh well, I guess there is always WebMD.
not to mention that Major Nelson has confirmed it on his blog.
Mike
I'm absolutely shocked by the way Microsoft took someone else's idea and co-opted it to be their own. just shocked.
Mike
this is the cutoff to convert to DTV not HDTV. how is the public supposed to figure it out if even the nerds can't get it right?

an attempt was made back in 2000, why not try again now?

except everything was worked out with the parent company and he was back on TV by April 20th.
Mike
so wait, we're cheering the fact they switched from one bloated media player to another bloated spyware infested media player?
I realize there are alternatives, but most people are unaware.

let's not forget that Edward James Olmos has warned fans of the original series to not watch.
Mike
this could be the beginning of the end for the audio CD.
...but what if you like the audio CD? what if you prefer lossless music, with coverart, booklet and printed media you can hold in your hand?
Mike
just so there's no confusion this is the same story, with the same pictures that was run on Tuesday

seeing how this is MTV, this really should be:

What it comes down to is that both have been created, and both suck.
