While he makes some valid points, it's hard to take this guy seriously. His ranting and raving is almost as bad as some of the trolls that lurk around slashdot.
He was saying to the audience in attendance that the Nintendo Difference for the GameCube was that their would be no "Mega Sequels," only innovative games like Pikmin.
What developer doesn't make extravagant, exuberant claims at an E3 press conference?
He goes on and makes some interesting comments about Mario Sunshine, but then he makes this comment:
Secondly, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind 'Wanker'.
C'mon, how old are we? You have to resort to name-calling to get your point across?
The whole thing is pure dreck, I can't believe the ravings of an immature, name-callling child makes the news.
You thought all of your favorite Star Wars characters were wild before, but now they're even wilder!! Presenting Star Wars Gone Wild!!!
See what happens when the cameras shut off, but the webcam stays on!! Exposed!!Uncensored!!!
Natalie Portman, Jar Jar Binks, and George Lucas, like you've never seen them before!!
All this for $19.95, and if you order now you'll also get Lord of the Rings: Doggy Style!! See what happens when we sent Snoop Dogg out with the Hobbits, it's steamy!!!
I'm really curious to see if this strategy is going to pay off for Nintendo.
I'm sorry to say that Nintendo is falling behind not because they were last out of the gate, but because (no matter what software they distribute) they will always have the sickly-sweet stigma associated with their product.
more power to them though, I've always thought Nintendo has created an excellent product, and competition is good for everyone.
Features include a 3.8" LCD screen for viewing movies and photos, FM tuner, MP3 playing and recording, 20GB or 40GB HD models, USB2.0 (optional Firewire) connection, TV-out, MPEG-4 encoding from a video/audio-in signal, digital photo (3.3 megapixel) and video camera, and much more.
Also, all the etree usage (live show recordings of bands which permit it) is completely legal. BitTorrent's total bandwith usage would be quite substantial even if the etree distributions were all it was used for.
many people are not aware bands like Dave Matthews Band have an open taping policy. while not soundboard, many audience recordings are really close. many tapers spend $5000-6000 dollars in equipment and acheive pristine copies of the concerts. access to the shows has become even easier thanks to an amalgamation between archive.org and etree.org, we now have the etree.org audio archive.
these files are distributed in the lossless SHN format so each copy will sound the same no matter which generation of the disc you have.
with the addition of BitTorrent the trading of these concerts has become even easier. Many links can be found under the music of Smiler's BitTorrent site. But here are a few direct links; here and here.
The best part is the RIAA can do nothing about it, imagine that legal free music!

why bother buying the DVD if you download the screener
because many people enjoy having extras. the commentary tracks many times give you insights into the film that no "behind the scenes" featurette will. not only are these commentary track often humorous, they are also educational for many up and coming film makers.
Eyes and eyesight There's no evidence that working with display screen equipment is harmful to the eyes, nor that it makes visual problems worse, although a few people who have difficulties with their sight may become more aware of them. But working at a screen for a long time without a break can have effects similar to reading or writing uninterruptedly, and may make your eyes feel 'tired' or sore. You might find that it helps to look away from the screen from time to time and focus your eyes on a distant object.
I've been playing video games my entire life, and yet I've had 5 automobile accidents, countless number of knife mishaps and I am probably up for "most likely to be on 'America's Funniest Home Videos'".
so we all know what this means, I need to play even MORE video games, or less Grand Theft Auto.
If I'm not mistaken BitTorrent was originally created to make it easier for people to access ISO Distros using the P2P concept, taking strain off the servers that originally hosted them.
I guess with the news that it's gathered as of recent did you ever foresee people using BitTorrent for illegal purposes? (i.e. hosting full albums, distributing illegal ISOs, obtaining full length movies) Do you fear the consequences that often come from the RIAA/MPAA?
Keep your shotgun handy though, as they are more than likely going to open up a portal into another dimension and all sorts of nasties are going to come pouring out.
just to be upfront, I'm going to say the same thing twice.
but it's a billion dollars that those companies didn't have to spend to buy software. therefore they are able to use the money for more urgent and important things.
and before anyone uses the excuse, "but they could of had it free all along", the learning curve (and training) between open source OSes and MS OSes is obviously night and day.
why retrain someone to use new software, when they may already be familiar with the software they have at home.

In April 2002, U.S. District Judge Stephen Limbaugh rejected a request by a video game industry group to invalidate the ordinance.
Judge Stephen Limbaugh first cousin to, none-other than everyone's favorite Rush Limbaugh....

Bah, I'm not impressed.

Mohandas Gandhi once said:
Non-cooperation with evil is a sacred duty.
It's obvious Ghandi would of never used Microsoft.

so how does this help those same novice users who had to pay for expensive PC repair because they also didn't know how to remove the software?

Sony in updated versions of the PS2 has already removed the iLink/Firewire port. It was in an earlier Slashdot article.
Mike
Anyone foresee this problem?
120GB HDD + DVD-R/RW + Mod Chip = a PS2 that will make copies of it's games for you.
If you add into the equation the multimedia via internet connectivity, it sounds like you've got a multi-purpose piracy machine.
Mike
let me break down the other 40 percent of the bandwidth for you:
18% Porn
12% Spam
6% RIAA "Cease and Desist" Emails
4% KaZaa Client Software
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to downloading the complete works of Engelbert Humperdinck

But to be honest if Microsoft didn't give away the money, people would be crying and moaning about that.
As much as we all hate the evil empire, for them it's damned if they do, and damned if they don't.
Look at it this way, the money is going to worthwhile causes, be happy it's doing someone other than a rich investor, or evil Bill himself, some good.
