    I think you've missed his point. It's not the physical, scatterable DNA, it's the fact that the cells for the human parts were inserted. If this animal reproduces it won't pass on any of its human parts.

    California is only entitled to tax you for miles you drive in the state of California.

    Why is that? They certainly tax their citizens on money they earn out of state. Why not the miles they drive? Seems like they could pass pretty much whatever tax they want. There are plenty of taxes that have no particular justification.

    Something's fishy about this. Tivo has a market cap of about Two Million XBoxes. Microsoft could buy them out this afternoon if they saw them as a competitor. Why would they choose to fight instead?

    Don't be ridiculous. And just how much is "all the rain?"
    Look. If it rained for 40 days that's 960 hours. If it reached the highest peak that's 20,000 feet of water. That's over 20 feet of rainfall per hour. In a tropical rainstorm the rain is so dense you can't see anything but water, and yet that's only a few inches of rainfall per hour. Twenty feet per hour, every hour, for 40 days, would demolish any vessel, let alone a home built wooden one. It didn't happen. Get over it.

    You don't know the gambling business. It's unbelievable how many mistakes get made. Line get put up backward, the money line or the first half line get overlooked when a line is changing rapidly, etc. etc. etc.

    Wow. Your[sic] talking about copyright law, which is an artificial monopoly.

    He actually didn't start out talking about the law at all. He simply said that if two parties agree to something, then morally they should do what they said they would do. That's all. A simple and reasonable idea. And he's saying that if one party doesn't want to do what they say, then morally they shouldn't enter into the agreement in the first place.

    It's not a defense, but it can certainly be considered during sentencing.

    This just shows how out of touch the standards bodies are with reality. Nobody has adopted that idiotic naming convention. A kilobyte is 1024 bytes.

    I think it's the other way around. A "kilo" byte was named that (I'm guessing) because it was a semi-clever way to refer to something that was pretty close to a thousand. But kilo meant 1000 long before that, and still means 1000 everywhere else.
