The reason neither party wants to do this is that when the other party is in charge, it'll happen to them.
Granted, they could just, you know, not do anything illegal, but what's the benefit of that?

When I first got Orange box, I dug up a noob friendly TF2 server and started there. I played a lot of games as an engineer until I became more comfortable with the game.

Either that or find a college server that references alcohol in the server name and start there - just claim you're drunk if you're not doing that well.

Just watch as they speak over and over again about how decriminalizing marijuana will destroy us all. The vast majority of Canadians support it, but their american friends don't.
Interestingly enough, the conservatives are the only Canada-wide party who doesn't have decriminalization, to some degree, as part of their platform.

And if anybody can put a tracking device on anybody else's car legally, can I attach them to the local police cruisers and map the output in real time to a website with updates to concerned citizens via text messages?

(The answer, I think, is that I'm as free to do that as they are to break into my home in the middle of the night with military combat gear on, automatic weapons drawn, shoot my dog or loved ones, drag me out in handcuffs, steal anything vaguely computer-related, etc..)

One thing I'd recommend to avoid this problem (of losing interest) is to have him write something *useful*. It should be some tool or script he'll be using on a daily basis and one he'll want to improve on and rework as time passes.

Suggest starting with some script that deletes his porn surfing from the proxy server logs.

Portal could be done by showing the previous escape attempts - the people that leave the clues & notes for Chell. That way they could work in a group of escapees at once, working together. After the final confrontation with GlaDOS (with only a small part of the group making it out) the end of the movie could be like the game - cake, still alive, etc.
