There's an incentive for the company to make crappy products - if your printer lasts for 6 years, there's not as much income as one printer every year.
The time could be worked into a method to move your character from server to server. Want to transit between solar systems? That'll take a while. So your character goes into cryo-sleep (or whatever) some some amount of real time where they aren't available. In-system travel could be quicker, and part of the game world.
Rather than loot the vehicle, why not put the bombs on it instead of on the roadside? That way there will definately be troops around at some point and even if they defuse the bomb before it goes off, it lessens the usefulness of the automated supply convoy - instead of having bombs on the roadside, now they're brought into the base by friendly vehicles.
Steve Jackson games are great. A friend grabbed me Ninja Burger for Christmas, which is more of a card game than a board game, but still fun.
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Cheapass Games. They're perfect for those on a budget and great fun. You may have to shop around a bit, but I've found them in a few gaming stores.
They're doing more than trying to translate the feel and style to screen - Frank Miller has a co-director credit for Sin City. Check out the IMDB info & credits.
As a Canadian in tech, I've got to agree. Our office has gone from being tech-centric to redeveloping the training program and resources to the point where they can bring in a new high-school grad and train them up on a month. A couple years ago, they were hiring people with tech degrees and certs only. They quality of service is dropping, but who cares as long as the stock value stays up long enough to sell?
www.abuse.net works for finding abuse email addresses as well, once you've got the domain.
When you email them, make sure to include the relevant log files (not the entire thing, just the relevant bits) - they probably recieve hundreds or thousands of emails daily, depending on the size of the ISP.
It's worth it to give them a call, if you can, to follow up. Find out what the policy is for that ISP - some give a number of warnings before they suspend/disconnect a user. If this is the case, find out how long you have to wait to cause another warning and send more data if the intrusion attempts continue.
Based off of this would it be hard to believe that if a Romulan came to the humans and said they were Vulcan we'd be able to tell the difference?

Oddly enough, in my theater (in Edmonton, Alberta) there was a drunk guy in the back making tons of noise and loudly refusing to leave. The manager stopped the film and apologized for the disturbance, but they had to "escort" the guy out with police and security guards. The film was borked when it restarted - no picture, just sound, then when the picture came back, you couldn't hear the sound over the noise of the crowd. We missed about 5-10 minutes of film.
We wound up leaving the theatre - we're going back tonight to see the full thing. At least we got our tickets moved to another night for free and free tickets to spiderman.
The ISP can find out which MAC had that ip at a given time via the DHCP logs. From there, if your ISP requires you to register your MAC in order to get an ip, they look up whose account the MAC was registered under and match that to billing info and service address.
Not sure how it'd work without the MAC registration step.
A trick that works, especially at Safeway, and other grocery stores:
Get a load of groceries and head to the till. When it comes time to pay and they ask if you've got a store card say that you don't have one, but would like one. They'll pull one out from under the counter and remove it from the form and scan the card right away. Start filling out the form with fake data while the people behind you start getting ticked off. Offer to step away so other people can go through and bring the form back in a minute. Leave store with activated card and toss the form.
I have cards from multiple chains that have been obtained in this manner.
Odd thing about C&S.. I was in college a few years back and was speaking with my Philosophy Prof in his office when I noticed on his bookshelf behind him the AD&D Monster's manual and 6 or 7 C&S books. Turns out he knew the guy who wrote the system and liked to pick the philosophies of the races out of the setting and use them in his clases as examples.
And this kind of thing can be slipped into your employment contract that you signed when you were hired. You did read that before you signed it, right?

"People are using the Internet to destroy people they don't like, and you can't do that."
Yeah - use lawyers instead.

We are at war with terrorism. We have always been at war with terrorism.

Some songs should be $0.99 and some songs should be more.
How about some songs should be $0.99 and some should be less?
"real or simulated graphic depictions of physical injuries or physical violence against parties who realistically appear to be human beings"?
There go all the football games.
www.twu-canada.ca works too, for the union's point of view.

I've got to second this. Cranium's a blast and can get very hilarious after a few drinks.

"Retailers and construction companies led the hiring."
Yup, there's my IT job right there.
Actually, Cthulu Kart Racing sounds like fun..

How, exactly, do you test something like that? Cessna with flippers? Drop whales from heights? Whale in a wind tunnel?

They're going to try to go after a multi-billion dollar industry because its material "is obscene by community standards".
A better question is whose community? Apparently not mine.
