    I worked on McIDAS around 1980-1982. It ran on a Harris minicomputer and the OS was named VULCAN (IIRC). I had it downloading weather and satellite maps to a Apple ][. The Mount St Helens eruption was visible on it.

    It is illegal to sell moon rocks, but not a desk that has a moon rock in it.

    Kind of like selling WMD to Iraq. You can't really sell finished nukes, bioweapons, or chemical agents, but you CAN sell all the ingredients as long as you include a statement like "don't mix 10 parts of XYZ to 3 parts ABC because that would make Sarin, and never, ever add water to the Anthrax spores".

    0. Don't install hard drives while stupid. My sister's boyfriend once decided to add another drive to his PC. He forgot to buy a cable, so he used a spare floppy drive cable he had laying around. Fortunately he only fried the new drive.

    I saw a CA license plate with "LINUX" on it a few months ago. It was on some kind of red sports car IIRC. Since "Linux" is trademarked by Linus, does that mean it was his car, or is the state of California in violation? Or can I get "COCA COLA" or "IBM" or "MICROSOFT"on my plates?
