    Yea but who cares about emacs, this is UIUC it was the home for Xemacs from about 1995 - 1997 there about, Emacs versions 19.11 through 19.14. And the programmer who worked on it is still at UIUC. So I think they are a bit Xemacs bias.

    Of course there was also a Prof that was using Gosling Emacs druing that time :)

    Since anyone who is anyone will have an iPhone. If they don't you don't want to mingle with them anyhow :)

    I can't see how Apples DRM restricts your fair use. If you need to play it on another device, other then an iPod. Then burn a CD and rip the same CD and then you have a MP3 that you can use on any device. Yea gee you had to go through a few more steps but big deal! It's good to have a hard back up of your music any way.

    Yea I do too. My roommate in collage had on of the first Amigas that came out. We hooked it up to my stereo and as the men marched on to the board it would play on different channels for the left and right. Hey now that was cool in `85 :)

    Yes see the other post about what computer bluetooth adapter. I amd using the m2500 by Plantronics, the behind the ear head set and it works great. I can get about 25 feet if there are no walls in my way. About 15 feet if there are walls.

    Yes you are right. This does not scale, distance and attenuation do not have a 1:1 slope. Thus, one watt at a million miles would be unbelievably weak signal than one microwatt at one mile.

    Sorry I should have said networked mounted file system. Hadn't had enough coffee before I posted.

    My basic concern is that when you mount the file system it will start scanning and you could get a big hit in performance when mounting a lot of very big network file systems.

    Well we mount all SMB for cross platform work with our window users. So that's too bad spotlight will not work in our current set up. Maybe that will change down the road.

    Yes but my biggest concern is how they are going to handle mounted file system. If they don't index them then Spotlight will not help my users much. If they do when does the indexing happen and how often? And when you work with Terabytes of data how long is that going to take. Also where does the data base live is it on the server where all the clients can use the data or is it on a per machine basis where all of my 200 some client machines will have to index all the network storage?

    Well I guess we will just have to wait and see...

    Ok you wait in line to have your passport checked. I will happily go threw the reader with my passport safely on my person. With a little green light that says it is OK for me to enter the US or even other countries.


    Of course nothing stopping me from walking up to the reader and opening my shielded case and walking through.

    But while you walk around with a non shield RFID the CIA will know exactly who you are and able to add notes to your passport with out your knowledge.

    He had some great points about why the Bush Government would want this.

    My first question is there a way I could make/buy a shield that mask the RFID signal? I can see a case like I have my palm in that would shield my passport until I gave it to the Custom Agent.

    I wonder it my new passport will have this I just sent in my renewal paperwork...

    And with the 10.3.5 server the server tools are updated to 10.3.5 :) If they are installed on your machine, client or server re-run software update to find the server tools ready to install.

    Yea it does, I tryed with Safari and got the error message, then changed my user agent to "Windows MSIE 6.0" and hit reload. The page came up with no problems.

    ...DVR it and watch that hour show in 30 minutes, or less depending on its popularity. :)

    Actually I find you can watch a hour show in 45min, now if you want to fast forward then you can do it in less. But just skipping commercials, it's 45min. This works out great if you start 45min into the show and you can finish at the hour mark.

    Also I don't what TIVO gives you but the basic functions of the PVR that dish has in the 501 and 508 are just what our family needs. We have two and I can't see living with out them. It also helps that we got into the game before they started charging for the PVR on a monthly basis so we get the service for free :)

    Yea and the last car I bought was via the internet from a dealership outside my state. Now I could have easily gone to the dealershp after shopping online, which would work around the NM law.
