  1. GPS told me I was driving *on* Lake Tahoe on Drivers Need To Forget Their GPS · · Score: 1

Several years ago when I had the iPhone 3G, I was using the GPS on the map app as I drove around Lake Tahoe. Sometimes the GPS said I was on the other side of the lake, other times the GPS told me I was driving in the middle of the lake.

  9. So, I guess Windows 7 will be the last Windows OS that I use. Hopefully by the time new games stop supporting it, Linux will have the support of new games.

Even Windows 7 has the same issues that Windows 10 has with telemetry updates, etc.

  10. the day after Thanksgiving = turning a profit on How Black Friday and Cyber Monday Are Losing Their Meaning (time.com) · · Score: 1

    > the day after Thanksgiving marked the occasion when America's stores finally turned a profit. This myth always gets repeated, but is very wrong. Just look at any publicly traded retailer, and the profitable ones report a profit every single quarter, not just the fourth quarter.

  11. I read the linked USA Today article on How Black Friday and Cyber Monday Are Losing Their Meaning (time.com) · · Score: 1

"In their quest to attract shoppers, stores will partner with big-name manufacturers to create "derivative models" — stripped-down versions of pre-existing TVs. These TVs, made specifically for Black Friday, are often not as good as the model they're based on: The picture may be lesser quality, or the warranty may be altered. There could be some missing features or components....... Most notably, Best Buy's model lacks smart TV features, and doesn't offer as many settings: It has just two different aspect ratios to choose from, while the non-Best Buy-specific version has six." Lacking smart TV features is a good thing.

Forget about trading. Just invest and watch your account go up. The stock market is up 200% over the past 6 years, and it's nowhere near done. After having 2 huge crashes in 8 years (2000 and 2008), the central banks will NOT allow another crash so soon - that would wipe out all confidence in the system and they can't have that.
