your vision is practically perfect. My left eye is -8.50, and my right is -8.00. Plus I've got a stigatism in both eyes. I don't care if it takes me away from coding for a week or two, as soon as my vision stops getting worse I'm going in for LASIK. (it's gotten worse every checkup for 12 years now)

actually, both of you are correct. Most people did did just just buy the windows version and download the linux client. However there was a short run limited release with the linux client on the cd.
yes, definately a nice case. I've built 3 with the 1040b now, it's amazing how much room everything has, the airflow is great with like 6 fans, the front lid to hide the beige drives works great, and it's fairly quite. I bought my first one about a year ago, and now it seems everyone and their brother are bying the cheap clone knockoff of it. Why oh why didn't I wait a couple of months for other's to make cheap knockoffs.....
he's saying the only way he'll put in accurate info is if that info is a P.O. Box, which costs money. He doesn't want to list his home address for obvious reasons.
hello. I'm a college student who has refused loans. I make enough working hard at a real job to pay for my tuition and rent, so I don't need them. Plus, I don't want to start my adult life off in tons o' debt.
There, now you've met one of us. There are plent more.
actually iirc, theKompany paid them to right the fix-point decoder, with an agreement that after a time they could open it up. basically theKompany wanted to be the first on the block with a new toy, not necissarily the only kid on the block with one.
therin lies the problems. Teachers don't get paid even close to what their worth, so why would extra staff (read: non-athletic coach) be paid what they are worth?

the difference is AOL. Netscape == mozilla + aol cruft - nifty pop-up blocking features. Plus netscape has the brand name appeal.
thanks slashdot, I've been trying to get the original on ebay for the last couple months now. This asures me of not finding a copy for under the original face value for a few more months to come now!
the 83 rocks! I've used mine since freshman year of high school (god, has it been 7 years allready?), and still find new uses for it. I'd take it anyday over my new $180 HP paperweight.
wow, that seriously sucks for you. We have all of that on the lab machines around campus, but they don't force us to buy anything. (cept the god damned HP49g I've touched twice)
yeah, that's all good, until you read the press release from 2 months ago that says their expanding because they are experiencing huge growth in sales.
Be warned about that url, it has crashed every browser I've tried in linux so far including galeon, netscape 6.2, and mozilla 1.0. I've got a friend in the windows world however that was able to view it with IE and copied the text of the press release here.
There PR wennies need to learn HTML or use something other than dreamweaver. 60K of text for a 4 paragraph press release is to much.
it's not the ONLY feature they have. my $68 apex player from wal-mart will play any region dvd, any vcd, svcd, mp3 cd, kodak picture cd, audio cd, and even raw mpeg burned to a cdr! oh, and it's got component output and I've flashed the rom to be macro-vision free too! It really is a neat little peice of hardware, and perfect for tossing into a dorm room, because if someone breaks it it's relatively cheap to replace:-)

and of course windows 2.0 in between that
Which makes me wonder why no one has flagged TridiaVNC for a GPL violation....
From the article, it looks like this is going to be nasa tv only. Does anyone want to record/webcast this for those of us w/o all the extra channels?
try slackware-current (aka 9.0 beta). it's got gcc-3.2 standard, and has for a couple months.
kde 3.0.3 runs great under Gentoo on my p266, 64MB RAM laptop. Not to troll, but Mandrake is bloat. KDE works just fine.
no comments on this story and the memo has allready been pulled by geocities..... outstanding.
There is some very primative discussion of it here .

this basic idea is true the for xfree86 driver itself. The problem is the kernel interface portion of the driver that needs to re-writen for every os.
from what I read of it, it will be nvidia only, because ATI's opengl implimentation under linux is missing a few key features.

when was virtualdub ripped off? I haven't seen that one.
oh it gets better, you can set mozilla to open a link in a new tab with the middle button, and set it to open up in the background.

grab the $65 apex player from walmart, it'll play everything I've thrown at it, and can be flashed to be macrovision free. it really does kick ass.
