What? She is 29 years old, not in elementary school. If she hasn't figured out how to act and conduct herself professionally maybe she shouldn't be in the program regardless.
..and you, full of spite, sit and get your $10 worth of a movie that's making you rage? You must be an absolute barrel of laughs, mister. Fuck the hell off.
Take a print out of this post to your doctor and say "prozac please". Rage is bad for you, it will kill you prematurely...
- Babies crying (could there be a more horrible sound!? I'm afraid when I have a real baby I will completely tune it out -- that MADD commercial is the worst for this!) - Door bell - Telephone ringing - Common computers noises (msn messenger notifications! etc)
walked out on the movie Minority Report about 10 minutes in
You actively don't watch movies that tackle issues you disagree with? That is a very very close minded attitude.
P.S. had you stayed for the remainder of movie you would have seen that the movie was a warning against such a law. That's ironically akin to not reading Animal Farm because you dislike communism.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the original posters understands that. His idea would be a way of converting "food" to electricity and edible meat by way of capturing the energy inherent in the flexing of muscle required to exercise the meat.
I'm not sure about this at all... When I was a child I remember all sorts of bullying, name calling and violence throughout the years that no adult I know of has ever had to deal with. A lot of bullying would be a felony if perpetrated by adults.
I remember one kid who would routinely get picked up and thrown in the garbage can in boys locker room. If someone people picked me up today and stuffed me in a garbage can I would call the cops. If I was verbally abused, the way some kids are abused at school, I would never talk to or see the perpetrator socially or professionally again. If it happened at work they would surely be fired. A child in the same situation would have to see the abuser everyday for at least the remainder of the school year.
As an adult, if someone damages my property, physically hurts me or verbally threatens me it constitutes a crime that I can go to the police with. That is an option available to Adults. How is denying this option to children "preparing them for adulthood"?
No, the merchant has to provide proof.. In the form of a signed receipt in the case of a brick and mortar "card present" transaction. That's it... the signature on the receipt is your agreement to pay. If they can't produce that or another agreement to pay then the charge should be reversed... chase is screwing you around... asked them unequivocally for a copy of the signed receipt or agreement to pay. If they refuse find out who regulates credit card companies and threaten to file a complaint with them and with your local representative etc.
The only problem.. well maybe not the *only* problem but a big problem is that businesses would simply leave... they would go to other places with skilled workers and cheaper taxes... then you would be screwed and the other place would be booming...
What? you guys are terrible! She is your sister! My brother owns a pharmacy and I do tech support for him from time to time... I'll even take a day off work and go fix his printer and I never ask payment.. sometimes I grab a "free" chocolate bar or juice on the way out or something... it's family. Do you guys get calculator out when you go for dinner too?
Lawyer - Hell no, I'm not getting disbarred/whatever for you guys, and furthermore there's not a lawyer in the country who will put their name on %dodgy_thing%.
Therefore Hulu cuts-off those regions where they have nothing to gain, and you would probably do the same if you owned that business.
You are missing the part where they have something to lose. NBC and others currently sell their shows internationally. Cable stations all over the world buy shows from NBC and others for big bucks (HUGE bucks). Offering HULU for free globally would undercut this massive revenue stream.
And I personally don't count DirecTV as an adequate "replacement" for cable.
Just curious, why not? Up here in Canada I have satellite tv. I could have cable for the roughly the same cost but I choose not to because like satellite better (for various small reasons).
That's because you have a crappy shaw box or connection I guess... I have a Bell PVR and I am never worried that something important won't get recorded or a signal loss will interrupt recording. Also, Bell had a special on a while ago that could net you are PVR for $300 or a rental for $20/month.
Disclaimer: I hate bell, they are the worst company ever and their customer service is complete and utter crap and I have almost cancelled 3 times but the shaw hardware (my only other option) is junk and that is only reason I still have bell. In fact I am the proud owner of bellsucks.com which I registered sometime during my 90 minute telephone "conversation" with their customer service morons.
No, the lowest VISA itself charges is 1.80% + $0.10 for card not present (i.e. internet) transactions. As far as I know, it's impossible to get better than that. Amazon.com or somebody might get around the VISA interchange charges but I doubt it. If anybody has different information let me know. I'm still trying to figure out how the industry "really" works...
Or you could just stick a mirror "out there". The light would quite conveniently come back at you. Or you could sneak around the other side of the universe and wait for the light...
Here in Victoria BC, one of the wettest places on the planet we have similar water bans. In fact we recently upgraded our reservoir to hold almost double the water [http://www.crd.bc.ca/water/watersupplyarea/historical.htm] but we continue to have water restrictions! Why? Because they don't want people to get used to using too much water! (Yeah, that's actually what they said. )
What would be nice is if google created a new tag in the lines of rel="nofollow" which would be an in-line way to keep the engine from seeing content.
That would be exploited by spammers to the extreme. Imagine clicking on a listing for disney kids fun house only to have a hidden ad for an online Viagra dispensary dominate the page.
No necessarily true-- there are some religions that evolved to combat these extreme religions. Most of these religions simply preach that "if you are a good person then it's all good. Doesn't matter which religion you belong too." Of course this is not a basic tenant of the Middle eastern religions (Christianity, Islam etc) but they do exists. These religions generally gain members when confronted by one of the violent religions. This gives people 3 choices - "convert" to the violent religion, join another violent religion and fight (and maybe die), or join a defensives religion. Of course many of these defensives religions have now been co-opted by extremists...
NO religion is a religion of peace...
Did you know, that the Quakers (a religious group) were awarded the Nobel peace prize?
The attacker then re-transmits the data back to the server and counts the number of bytes before the server to throws error messages and disconnects the attacker.
This seems easily fixable. Have the server wait a random amount of time (say between 1 and 5 seconds) before throwing an error and disconnecting. During the "wait" period the server would continue to accept data and simply pipe it to/dev/null.
Patterson said that he did not believe this flaw had been exploited in the wild, and that to deduce a message of appreciable length could take days.
True, but a username/password string is a pretty short message.
I completely agree. They too often come to the conclusion that "we couldn't do it therefore nobody can!". Especially when dealing with 1 in a million odds...

Agreed, while we are at it lets add:

Well, we do business with China and Saudi Arabia. Just Saying....

it'll better prepare them for adulthood.

maybe just plug the belkin into the ups and then everything into that?
Seriously a good idea. I got a bunch of these http://www.belkin.com/surgeprotection/concealed/
They are great, I have just one box on the floor under my desk, easy to sweep around, doesn't collect dust and looks tidy.

where i work there is a 30 page book where half of each page is empty
Where I work there is no rule book.. wtf is wrong with you that makes you think that having *only* 15 pages of rules is a good thing?

I live in (and was born in) Canada and I agree. I'd adapt the US constitution in heartbeat if was an option here.
