    One thing that's made me wonder is, if I want to use gcc or another gpl compiler, would the resultant project automatically be gpl'd? Just compiling a "hello world" program would link together several gpl'd libraries would that be considered a derivitive of the original?

    is why the control computers for a nuke plant are even hooked up to the same network. I can understand the need for the systems to communicate, but for them to have a physical connection to the outside world, firewalled & patched or not, is just plain stupid.

    You misread, actually its the:
    set of "stolen code" figures in the release - 'approximately 148 files of direct Sequent UNIX code to the Linux 2.4 and 2.5 kernels, containing 168,276 lines of code.

    They are saying that all 168,276 lines of code is infringing.

    Start collecting classic games and learn how to repair them.
    If nothing else collect the ROM's. I know they're copyrighted, but if they're going to let them die then F'em. What the companies need to do is simply come out and sell the roms they currently own or license someone to handle it for them, stick them on a CD and sell it for $10-20 with a copy of MAME included. I'd pay $20 for a licensed library of SNES or Atari console roms.

    I don't think it's very likely that right now every peice of mail is tracked. Each post office, however would know who itdelivers mail to and it wouldn't be very difficult to notify those individuals of the anthrax. On the other had if someone passing through mailed a letter, that passed through the post office in question, back home, I doubt that either of them would have been notified of the anthrax threat.

    I am anoucning a licensing program for the IP that I have had stolen from me and illeagally included in the Linux Kernel. If you wish to keep using my software you may send me $666 and there will be an annual maitenance fee of also $666. If you do not wish to continue using my software you may feel free to switch another software platform as there is no way for my code to be removed as all code that is around it has now been tainted and is a derivitive of my code, thus it's all mine. I will not show any evidence that the code in question is in fact mine or that any code was in fact illeaglly used or that anything that I have ever done or will do has been used at this or any other time in history or future was coded my me and included in the linux kernal/subsystems/programs/drivers/documentation.
