I was thinking that I'd read that Microsoft was cleaning about 1 billion per month. If that's accurate and continues the stock buy back would not affect cuurent cash reserves only slow the rate it builds. That would result in a reserve growth of 18 billion over the next 4 years instead of 48 billion, while at the same time reducing the number of publicly held shares which will probably up the stock price.

Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

With no ipv6 number you will not be able to buy or sell and it's long so you'll have to write it down somewhere where you'll always have it, say on the back of your hand. ipv6 is simply ipv666 shortended up a bit to hit the true meaning.

Even having a few hundred extra to cover you for a few days in the event of a delayed paycheck is better than nothing. Consistantly relying on a paycheck to arrive by a certain moment just to get by is foolish. If you can't do that sell some of your shit and pay off your damn bills. Eat out once or two times less in a month, rent a couple of videos instead of going to the movies, walk or ride a bike instead of driving a car or car pool if you have a long commute. I'm not saying that you have to have 6 months expenses saved up and I understand that it's possible to get twice in a very short period of time and when you get hit it can be tough to recover, but if you're not at least trying then I've got no sympathy for you.

  15. General purpose super computing? on In The Works: Windows For Supercomputers · · Score: 1

MS Windows is a general purpose OS with lots of overhead built in to support backward comatability. These Giant super computing clusters, in part, are dedicated towards a single purpose, redering images for movies, for example. Does using a general purpose OS that doesn't allow for that level of tuning make sense in a supercomputer? I would guess not, but perhaps there is a limited market. The other issue here is that one of the things that makes these spuercomputing cluters cost effective is that the cost for the operating system is $0.00. If you have a 1024 node supercomputing cluster at perhaps a $1000 a node, based on approx pricing for Win2K Enterprise, that's just over a million dollars extra. That's a chunk of change. Since most programs that require the power of a supercomputer also requires custom programming anyway, why not build it on an OS that doesn't cost you anything that also has a proven track record in this environment? Heck if you're eager to spend an extra $1,000,000 donate it to the FSF. Just some outloaad thinkin' G
