I'd hope the indy labels insist on a bigger percentage of the 99 cents then the big 5 labels get.

This sounds like an excellent way to support small and local bands, something mp3.com had the potential to do, but failed completely.

I understand that spam is a problem for AOL. But I fail to see how preventing people from sending mail to AOL customers is a smart business move.

What do they hope to gain? Are they really going to save that much money by stopping some spam?

Or, more likely they will annoy non-customers and current customers which is a lot worse than spam.

It takes 5 minutes to lose a customer and a lifetime to win them back.

No wonder AOL/Time Warner is having such problems, with flawed logic like this, I wouldn't doubt AOL soon stops accepting any internet e-mail traffic.

    - Never piss off a woman with a BFG. (Big Friggin Gun)
    - Be like water...free and flowing.
    - Do not underestimate the pretty girl, for she too kickth much ass.
    - It is prefectly resonable to wear the same outfit every day...as long as you wash it
    frequently.

    - Of course it is possible to walk obliviously into a hostage situation and not get shot.

The above is best done while wearing headphones.

It is perfectly safe to aggrivate the terrorist.

It is also prefectly safe to ignore the terrorist.

  17. You are WRONG sir! on More Anime College and University Courses Being Offered · · Score: 3, Insightful

The fact that it is art is what makes it logical to teach a class on. Early philosophy teachers used popular poetry, and film schools today use feature films as point of example and discussion.

Why is anime any different. There is a wealth of ways one could approach the class. First you could look at the original artwork, in it's native culture. Then you can look at the citizen's response to it. Or you could examen foriegn audiences and their interest in the genre.

There is probably a great deal to learn, the best way to become wise is to teach yourself how to think, not what to think.
