...his [Reagan] numerous speeches about the virtuous god-fearing mujahideen freedom fighters
Don't forget the picture of Saddam Hussein and Donald Rumsfeld (one of the architects of the 2003 Iraq invasion and then special envoy of Reagan) shaking hands in 1983.
I get robocalls from companies I have no business relation with on my mobile phone, which is also on the do not call list. This is currently illegal. When this happens, I dutifully fill out the forms on the FCC complaint site, with all the details. Afterward I am sent a snail mail letter acknowledging the form. Rinse and repeat, but no changes. I still get robocalls from the same number as the complaint. I'm talking 20 or 30 of complaints over six months.
So this new "tougher" rule is supposed to do what exactly? Nobody is enforcing the existing rules, why make new rules? For good PR, I guess.
There is always room for fairy tales to bring a little color to the black and white of rational thought. Personally I prefer Battlestar Galactica to the bible.
This is more Alice in Wonderland than Microsoft FUD: "Our competitors successful open source platform will be come closed source and fail, while our failed closed source platform will become open source and be the savior of the industry!"
Time to give the hookah back to the caterpillar, Meg.
Whoever is assigned as your support tech will still be under the same policies meant to minimize costs to HP, that means limited training and script reading. Given the turnover in tech support, even an "assigned" drone will likely be some random person by the time you need help. This sounds more like marketing than an actual change in policy.
Your facts do not answer the main point of the OP: the US should dismantle it's few remaining safety net programs. Admittedly that point has nothing to do with this story, but the mods apparently do not see that as a problem.
Hey, I'm from Texas as well, and it does get old to be lumped in with the crazies. But there are enough crazies in Texas, I fully understand the impulse of people unfamiliar with the state to use the mental shorthand of "all Texans are nuts". Rise above it and continue to work for sane policies. That and demographic shifts will eventually bring the state to a more mainstream position.
I would say there is a clearly noticeable difference between cheap consumer grade speakers and decent consumer grade speakers. I can't comment on $10K speakers. Another delusion based problem is buying more power than you need and operating the equipment at lower volumes than optimal. I did this myself a decade ago, imagining a movie style house party, when the reality is angry neighbors.

I wasn't sure at first. The description seemed too charitable.
We should just switch now to quatloos, administered by glowing brains.
You're talking about Jerry Jones, aren't you?

Well, hopefully they all die. That way demand will dry up.
The crowd at a Republican debate cheered this approach for uninsured sick people in need of health care.

But if you have a Christian loyalty card (sold at participating Churches), the tax is rebated with eternal afterlife! What a bargain.

the old CEO, Leo Apotheker, did screw up and cause WebOS to flop. That's part of why he was fired.
And before that was Mark Hurd, who fired 10% of HP and resigned after "inappropriate behavior" (investigated for sexual harassment)
Before that Patricia Dunn resigned for illegally obtaining private records in an attempt to prevent board level leaks.
Before that Carly Fiorina was forced to resign after failed products and mergers, dismal performance and snuffing the last remnants of the HP way.
HP seems to be a dumping ground for the worst CEOs, and Meg Whitman is no exception.

...a cue for Steve Jobs' final "one more thing..."
He's dead Jim. Tim Cook needs to fashion a new catch phrase. How about "You want more? Damn Skippy!"
It is hypocritical coming from the party that say government is not good at *anything*, and that privatization is *always* the best route.

As a matter of redundancy, it's good to have diverse network infrastructure: electrically powered *and* Labatt fueled.
I really don't appreciate all the Texas bashing.

...this is laziness. No borg icon warrented.
Maybe a slacker borg with an arm replaced by a bong: "Dude, where's my cube?"

Why would this be a problem? "The South", or more specifically some power company in the South would then make profits and create jobs.
It's actually an Atari 2600. Here is a screenshot.
Kodak! The innovation is the interactive way he used his hand to move the images around.
But many religious people own toasters. Does that mean all religious people like toast?
Depends. Is this the toaster in question?
What is going on?
